🦀 A win, a course record AND a Virginia state record!

Congratulations to Dana Hayden of Powhatan, VA, your 2026 Sentara Crawlin’ Crab 5K women’s champion! Dana clocked an impressive 18:23, making both the Sentara Crawlin’ Crab course record and resetting the Virginia 5K state record for her age group.

"This year's race win meant a lot to me, not only because I got to defend from last year as well as set the course record, but it also was my last opportunity to re-set the 5K VA state record for my age group (W45-49) since I turn 50 the following weekend. And I did it!

It was a very well-organized race and the atmosphere is so lively!"

Congratulations David Angell of Blue Ridge, VA - our 2026 Sentara Crawlin’ Crab 5K champion!

"I had a great time and was grateful to get the win! I ran for Roanoke College (and Franklin County High School before that) back in my younger days. I've pretty much been running and racing non-stop for the last 35 years. I've traveled to that area for several other J&A races in the past and you always do a great job, so I knew it would be a well run event."
