Years later, we're reminded of our purpose. Our mission remains a powerful one: to unite our community through the joy of football, transcending boundaries of socioeconomic status, race, religion, and politics. It was a visionary dream, and it continues to inspire.
I have not seen this signed football by many of the best players to have played for the team in well over 25 years.

What a blessing it was for us to have Coach Red Stickney as our head coach. He was a legend and truly a players coach. He played his college ball for another legendary coach Bear Bryant at Alabama. I miss my old friend. I played against his Maury Commodore team in 1983 at Met Park. His teams were always tough and hard hitting just like their coach.

In 1995 we partnered with Elementary Schools to promote reading in at risk communities. We visited them weekly. Typically there was Dr. TJ Morgan, a few players and our mascot "Sharkey". One of our most frequent volunteer players was Ruben Rodriguez. This outreach was our best program. 🦈🏈
