Why We Focus on Your Breathing
Breathing is something you do thousands of times every day.
But just because it’s automatic doesn’t mean it’s optimal.
Many of the issues people struggle with—tight neck and shoulders, low back tension, poor recovery, chronic stress, fatigue, and even recurring pain—can be connected to the way they breathe.
When breathing becomes shallow and chest-dominant, your body can interpret it as a stress signal. Over time, that keeps your nervous system stuck in a low-level fight-or-flight state, influencing everything from posture and mobility to recovery and pain sensitivity.
Your diaphragm isn’t just a breathing muscle. It’s connected to your core, low back, hips, and pelvic floor. When it isn’t functioning well, the body starts compensating:
➡️ Neck and shoulder muscles work overtime
➡️ Posture begins to change
➡️ Movement becomes less efficient
➡️ Tension and discomfort build over time
That’s why at Movement Redefined, breathing is often one of the first things we assess.
Not because breathing is a magic fix.
Because it’s one of the foundational pieces that influences how your entire body moves, feels, and performs.
If you’ve tried stretching, strengthening, massage, or other treatments without lasting results, your breathing mechanics may be the missing piece of the puzzle.
Breathe well. Move well. Live fully. 💙

Do you TRUST your body?
Last weekend during a 5k, I hit the final stretch feeling strong. My pace was right where I needed it to be, my body felt capable, and for the first time in a very long time a thought hit me out of nowhere:
“Holy sh*t… I trust my body.”
Not because I was pain free.
Not because everything in life is perfect.
But because for the first time, I wasn’t afraid.
I wasn’t obsessing over every step.
I wasn’t waiting for something to flare up.
I wasn’t trapped in the mindset of being “one wrong move away” from falling back into pain and limitation.
And that realization meant more to me than the PR I ran that day.
Over the years I’ve battled injuries, surgeries, chronic pain, anxiety, OCD, and the mental war that often comes with feeling stuck in your own body. One thing I’ve learned through that process is this:
The absence of pain does NOT automatically mean the presence of trust.
You can technically be “pain free” and still live cautiously. Still fear movement. Still feel disconnected from your body.
That’s not freedom.
At Movement Redefined, helping people get out of pain matters. But it’s only the beginning. What we really want is for people to trust themselves again. To move confidently. To stop living like their body is fragile.
Because movement shouldn’t feel conditional.
So here’s the question:
Do you trust your body?

If you’ve been dealing with chronic pain, tension, stress, or fear around movement, you know how exhausting it can feel when your body never truly relaxes.
What many people don’t realize is that chronic pain isn’t just about injured tissues — it’s also about learned patterns within the brain and nervous system.
That’s why we’re excited to partner with , a therapeutic hypnotist, for a special FREE Chronic Pain Hypnosis Session at Movement Redefined.
What You’ll Experience:
Learn how pain patterns are created — and how they can change
Understand the connection between stress, the brain, and physical symptoms
Discover how the body and nervous system can “hold onto” pain
Experience a guided hypnosis session designed to promote deep physical and mental relief
This workshop is designed to help you feel safer, calmer, and more confident in your body so you can move with less fear and tension.
