Congrat’s to Sir Adam Baker, one of our former riders, for being selected as RAF (Royal Air Force) athlete of the year. This is quite an achievement as the RAF athletes compete internationally at the elite level. Adam rode with us from 2017-2020 and still owns several KOMs locally.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Joe Vizi yesterday.
Joe served as the president and prime sponsor of Fat Frogs Racing, now Freedom Bike Works Velo, for two decades. His dedication to local cycling was unparalleled, providing endless support, encouragement, and leadership to countless riders over the years.
Joe was a genuinely warm person whose kindness, heart, and presence earned him the respect and love of our entire community. He will be profoundly missed by all of us.

With a heavy heart, we share the news that our community lost a truly special person today. Our former teammate, Jane Seymour, has passed away. Jane rode with us for well over two decades, bringing an incredible spirit to our group. She was a strong rider, a constantly smiling face, and a deeply positive influence on every single ride. Jane will be sorely missed by all of us. Rest in peace, Jane.

We had an easy ride to NWR Park in Chesapeake. It was our first time there is an while and the park has all new facilities! We had a good group with some strong new comers. There was solid tailwind going out but that meant we were fighting a headwind the whole way back.

Congrats to Mark Branson! He was 3rd at the VA State Championship Time Trial in Chesapeake this morning. This is a 20 mile course on the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail.

Max Fryar was third in the 50+ at Gravel Guts and Glory at Pocahontas State Park outside of Richmond today. Dan Crocker and Bruce Klinger also had good overall results for Freedom Bike Works. Other local riders that podiumed were Josh Moore, who won the overall, and Mike Hosang who was second in the 50+. The course was dry but we had a few short downpours at the end of the ride just to cool things down. It turned out to be a very challenging ride.

Farewell to our teammate, Tim Hutchins! We were so glad to get one last Saturday ride in with him yesterday before he heads back to the UK. It’s been an absolute pleasure having Tim on the team—he’s been a fantastic riding partner and an even better friend. Wishing Tim and his family all the best on their new adventure back home! We’ll miss you! 🚴‍♂️🇬🇧
