1. Education
A major component of every training program should be education – and HPI offers the best in the area. Dear HPI Friends & Family-

A great friend of mine once told me that the only constant in life is change in which I have found to be profoundly true throughout my years.

With that being said, Nicole and I are here to tell you that our lease is expiring and we will not be continuing HPI. As much as we would love to continue in what we consider to be one of the best strength and conditioning facilities in Virginia Beach, we simply will not as we have other business endeavors that will be taking us elsewhere.

We will be completely honest in this exit note to all of our faithful members. Discontinuing HPI is somewhat bittersweet for us. The past 4 years have been some of the most challenging and rewarding times that we personally have ever endured. Virginia Beach is a tough area to establish a training center as it is one of the most saturated fitness facility cities that either of us have ever been in. In turn, we fought for every single member and personal training client. I am very proud that we always paid our employees well and always had our bills paid while making a great name for ourselves in the industry.

Most importantly what we want to convey is that we are forever grateful for all of the friendships that HPI has brought us over the last four plus years. We have met some incredible Americans during our time in Virginia Beach and everyone together is what truly made HPI great. We never rode the coattails of anyone or any fad. HPI brought people together from all walks of life. The memories, the friendships formed, the thousands of training sessions that became great dinner conversation. HPI has been a place where members came embraced our unique training methodologies and process, appreciated the ability to train, and cut all the other nonsense out that often follows gyms. Quite honestly, HPI has an amazing gym family and culture that is not easy to find.

It is our sincere hope that all of HPI’s followers have benefitted in some way from HPI and please know that we did not come to this decision lightly. So, wherever the road may take you we hope HPI will stick with you and that you won't entrust your time, talent, and treasure to just any place. Do your homework. Nicole and I will always be indebted to all of you for the support throughout the years. Again, the only constant in life is change.

I will offer this piece of advice to you and I will paraphrase my friend, Seattle Seahawks Head Strength Coach, Chris Carlisle: if you’re a strength coach, blaze your own path. Do not follow someone trying to reach the pinnacle of success. Stay true to your beliefs and know that there is an incredible mountain ahead that faces you as this is a very challenging industry.

Lastly, through the years, HPI has had literally 1,000s of people through the doors. However, we would be remiss to not give a huge THANK YOU to the following people that were and have been with HPI for quite some time. These people didn't just hold a membership but actually put in the work and will always be HPI Family:

This is just the beginning of great things for this guy. Congrats to Coach Mason on completing basic. We had no doubt he would crush everything especially PT. 🇺🇸"Being a solider is more than courage, it's sacrificing yourself for something greater than yourself." We are so proud of you! 🇺🇸

Love your entire HPI Family

"The art is in the programming" and the past 8 weeks has lead to 3RM testing. Training will always teach us more about peformance then reading about it.

To cap off tomorrow's festivities::
1 round performed every 4:00 for 20 minutes.

Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper unite on The DRs 09/26/2016

Notice as this "well known" trainer performs in a "Crossfit Challenge" on the show "The Doctors." First, the box jumps valgus knees (caving in), the bouncing back and forth from the box to the floor without stepping back down off the box and resetting. This defeats the purpose of this plyometric explosive exercise and sets the athlete up for an achilles injury. Next, the lumbar flexion during the push press and the slam ball and on. This isn't bash session but rather meant to be educational.
