Honoring Our Brave Ecard Memorial Day-a day to honor America's bravest sons and daughters who answered the call to defend their nation and, in doing so, made the greatest sacrifice of all.

Please remember, don't forget

A big thank you to everyone who helped.

One day, this could be what a military funeral looks like.

No volunteers.
No rifle salute.
No sounding of Taps.
No flag presentation delivered by someone who understands the weight of that moment because they once wore the uniform themselves.

Across the country, veteran honor guards are facing a serious decline in membership. Many of the men and women who have faithfully carried out these final military rites for decades are aging, while fewer new volunteers are stepping forward to take their place.

If nothing changes, the traditions that have honored our nation’s heroes for generations could begin to disappear.

At Operation Honor Guard, we are working to support honor guards, raise awareness, recruit new members, and help ensure every eligible veteran continues to receive the dignified farewell they earned through service to our country.

Because no veteran should leave this world without honor.

Special thanks to Todd Tryggestad, Cole Tunks, Steve Clark, AJ Gratz, Chad Williams, Jamie Wagner, Duane and Sandy Pederson and Brenda Volden For their work on the grounds and of course our Post members and many others. I hope I didn't miss anybody. Thanks to Steve Thompson for purchasing the computer for the office along with the 4/10 over and under that we are selling tickets on. A huge shout out to everyone who’s been cleaning things up around the shelter and getting ready for the big event on the 30th. We will be selling Brat’s and Dave’s Pizza truck will be there that day.

We will be cleaning chicken the morning of the 23rd for anyone that wants to come help and of course anyone who would like to help volunteer for the night of Spanky’s band High Mileage

We need volunteers for the following: Painting,Landscaping.We would like to put a fresh coat of paint on it, tables, spruce up the grounds.We are going to get some metal on it to make it more attractive. It takes money.If have some spare change would help to cover cost in paint and other things such as going though electrical, Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be drop off a VFW club room. Please Feel Free To Share. Any questions can be directed to any Board member.

We will be putting flags out May 16th at Viroqua cemetery starting at 8:00 AM
Looking for volunteers we have 800+ to put out

Time is going fast, Memorial day will be here before we know it. If you would like to help out, were looking for individuals to help with Marching in the parade, our chicken Q cookout, or speakers at the ceremony at the cemetery. Our VFW is always looking for Veterans to Join our Post. If your a veteran and meet the VFW requirements, we would like you as a member.

Saturday High Mileage will be at VFW shelter on 30 May at 6:30 PM

Open at 3:00pm Monday-Friday and 11:00am Saturday-Sunday Public Always Welcome!
