Viroqua High School Girls Hockey

Player of the Game from February 20 vs. Cap City in our playoff game went to senior forward, Kylie Unseth.

The game didn’t go the way we wanted, but Kylie worked hard from start to finish. She made solid plays in front of the net and delivered some strong passes to create offensive opportunities. A good effort to close out the season.

Kylie chose to take her Player of the Game photo with a few of her teammates to wrap up the night.

Player of the Game from February 14 vs. Eagle River went to freshman forward, Grace Johnson!

Grace scored a beautiful goal in the first minute of the game to start the game off. She continued to work hard the rest of the game and made a strong impact throughout. Great work, Grace!

Player of the Game from February 10 vs. Badger Lightning went to our seniors: Kylie Unseth, Mari Buros, Amelia Olson, and Adey Oliver.

On Senior Night, we were proud to recognize and honor these four for their dedication to our program. Thank you for everything you’ve given during your high school careers as Blackhawks. Great job, seniors!

Player of the Game from February 7 vs. Beaver Dam went to assistant captain Amelia Olson!

Amelia scored a beautiful goal in the first period and worked hard all game long. No matter how many times she got knocked down, she got back up and kept fighting! Great effort and determination all game. Nice work, Amelia.

Player of the Game from February 5 vs. the Bluebirds went to assistant captain, Charlie Brudos - who played GOALIE?!

Charlie stepped up in a big way for her team, playing goalie with only four hours of goalie practice... ever! She did what was needed and gave it her all from start to finish. Thank you, Charlie, for putting the team first and competing the entire game. Great job!

Player of the Game from February 3 vs. Cap City went to senior goalie, Adey Oliver!

Adey faced 81 shots and recorded 72 saves on Feb 3rd, putting in a hard-working and determined performance in net! Great job, Adey! Outstanding effort!

Player of the Game from January 27 vs. the Bluebirds went to our three defensemen: Mattea Nelson, Baya Gronemus, and Brenna Rogers!

All 3 played strong defense all game, worked hard in all zones, and brought an aggressive presence to the ice! Not to mention they supported each other well and made things difficult for their opponent throughout the night. Great job, ladies!

Player of the Game from January 24 vs. Beaver Dam went to senior captain, Mari Buros.

Mari consistently worked hard and supported her teammates in every way possible. Her effort and leadership showed all game long. Great job, Mari!

Player of the Game from Jan 20 against the Cyclones went to assistant captain, Charlie Brudos!

Charlie set the tone early, scoring just 17 seconds into the game, and added another goal in the 2nd period. She had a strong offensive performance from start to finish. Great job, Charlie!

Player of the Game from January 15 vs. Badger Lightning went to senior captain, Mari Buros.

Mari led by example with consistent effort and had a positive mindset throughout the game. Great work, Mari!

Player of the Game from January 9 vs. Metro Lynx went to sophomore defenseman, Mattea Nelson!

Mattea had a strong defensive performance and gave it her all! Great job, Mattea!

Brenna Rogers with Player of The Game against the Cyclones on Jan 6th! Brenna not only scored twice this game, but her first goal was only 11 seconds after puck drop! Great work, Brenna!
