Who else has sacrificed their garage for a dream? 😂

What started as a few boxes has somehow turned into chairs, signs, banners, pickleballs, supplies, and enough deliveries to make our garage look like a mini distribution center. Tonight was officially “Free Up the Garage Day.”

So Bill and Augustin rented a van and started moving another load of Dill Dinkers Visalia equipment to its future home. Every trip makes opening day feel a little more real. One of the highlights was opening a shipment of pickleballs and finding a handwritten note inside: “Good luck on your new facility. You’re going to do great!”🍀

Moments like that remind us how many people have encouraged us throughout this journey. Building a business isn’t always glamorous. Sometimes it’s permit meetings. Sometimes it’s spreadsheets. And sometimes it’s spending your evening loading chairs into a rental van so you can park in your garage again.

But we’re grateful for every step. 🥹One box, one chair, one van load at a time, Dill Dinkers Visalia is coming together. And if all goes well, we might even see our garage floor again someday. 😅

Before a single permanent court existed, people were already showing up to help build the community behind it. 🧡🏓

This weekend reminded us that Dill Dinkers Visalia is becoming so much more than a building.

Before the courts are painted, before the fencing goes up, before opening day… people are already investing their time, energy, and hearts into what this place will become.

Huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time this weekend to help us film, play, share stories, and bring life into an unfinished space that will soon become home to so many players and families.

Special thank you to Elisabeth Curti for generously opening up her beautiful private courts to us for evening filming and gameplay. It meant more than you know.

Thank you as well to Lily and her family, along with the local Visalia and Fresno pickleball community members who came out to support, play, laugh, and encourage us throughout the weekend.

And thank you to my brother Enzo and the Flipbird crew — Mike and John from Flipbird.co — for pouring their creativity, heart, and long hours into helping us tell the story behind Dill Dinkers Visalia. Even after a full day of filming, they were still out there capturing moments under the lights.

One of the most fun parts of the weekend was watching the local pickleball community make converts out of Enzo and his crew by teaching them the game. Safe to say, three new pickleball players were born this weekend. 😄🏓

Another favorite moment was setting up a temporary makeshift net inside the unfinished facility and playing one of the very first pickleball rallies in the building. No courts yet… just vision, laughter, friendship, and faith that something special is coming.

We can’t wait to share more soon.

If you’d like to follow the journey toward opening day and be part of the founding community, follow our page and stay tuned for Founding Membership announcements coming soon. 🧡

First Dill Dinkers in the Central Valley.
Visalia, we’re building this together.

One of the coolest parts of this journey has been watching conversations happen inside a building that’s still very much under construction.

This week, professional pickleball player Irina Tereschenko stopped by Dill Dinkers Visalia to tour the future club, meet members of the local community, and spend time talking pickleball with players and families from the Central Valley.

Yes, Irina has competed at the highest levels of the sport and helped grow pickleball nationally for years — but what stood out most during her visit was how naturally she connects with people. Conversations about the game quickly turned into conversations about community, mentorship, local players, and the excitement surrounding pickleball’s growth here in the Valley.

That’s something we continue to love about this sport. No matter the skill level or background, pickleball has a way of bringing people into the same space. Beginners, families, college players, longtime local players, and professional athletes can all share the same court, the same stories, and the same love for the game.

While construction crews continue installing lighting, preparing courts, and transforming the building day by day, visits like this are a reminder that the real energy of the club has always been about the people inside it.

Special thanks to Irina for taking the time to visit Visalia, connect with the community, and be part of this chapter as Dill Dinkers Visalia continues taking shape.

The story is already starting before opening day — and we’re grateful to have the Central Valley community helping write it with us.

There’s something meaningful about watching people walk through a space while it’s still unfinished.

Right now, there are ladders, paint lines, wiring, and construction equipment spread across the future home of Dill Dinkers Visalia. But lately, there’s also been laughter, conversations about future league nights, families taking photos together, college players talking strategy, and longtime local players imagining what this place could mean for the Central Valley pickleball community.

What’s been most rewarding is realizing that many of the people visiting the facility today are the same people who quietly inspired this journey from the beginning.

The local players who kept growing the game.
The families introducing pickleball to their kids and grandparents.
The Fresno State Pickleball community bringing new energy to the sport.
The friends who kept saying Visalia needed a place like this.

As the walls get finished, lights go up, and courts begin taking shape, it’s becoming clearer that this place was never only about building courts. It’s about creating a space where community naturally happens — where people gather after work, where different generations share the court, where friendships grow, and where the love for the game keeps expanding across the Central Valley.

Still a lot of work ahead, but it’s been special seeing the story already begin before the doors even officially open.

Every visit, conversation, and shared rally is helping shape what Dill Dinkers Visalia will become. We’re excited to keep building this together.

The future home of Dill Dinkers Visalia welcomed some special visitors this week. 🏓

We were excited to host James Alves from the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, along with Fresno State Pickleball Club President Nick Wise and Fresno State player Mia Ramos, for a walkthrough of the facility as construction continues moving forward.

Walking through the future courts, lobby spaces, and gathering areas together made the project feel even more real. Conversations naturally shifted toward future league nights, college pickleball events, community partnerships, clinics, and all the ways this space can bring people together here in the Central Valley.

One of the best parts of this journey has been seeing support grow from both the local business community and the next generation of pickleball players.

There’s still work ahead, but each visit, conversation, and walkthrough adds even more excitement for what’s coming to Visalia.

We’re grateful to everyone helping build momentum alongside us and can’t wait to keep sharing the progress.

The courts are still being built, but the community is already showing up. Follow along as Dill Dinkers Visalia continues taking shape. 🏓

A special moment for Dill Dinkers Visalia. 🧡

This week, we had the honor of welcoming Mr. Johnny George, our 91-year-old landlord, back to the space.

Before Dill Dinkers Visalia came to life, he had once imagined bringing pickleball here himself. That made this visit especially meaningful as we reflected on how this vision is now taking shape in Visalia.

We are grateful for the people, history, and community behind this opportunity.

Community first. 🧡

One of the things we’ve loved most about this journey is getting to meet the amazing people already growing pickleball in Visalia.

Last week, Ryan Garcia and Jayson Galutira volunteered with Pickleball Visalia at their mini skills clinic, helping support an evening centered around community, learning, and fun. It was great seeing players of all ages out on the courts enjoying the game together.

We’re grateful for the warm welcome from the local pickleball community and excited to continue building relationships as Dill Dinkers Visalia comes to life.

This is what pickleball is all about. 🏓

This project is very personal to us. 🧡

Dill Dinkers Visalia is a family-focused small business, and every time we walk the space together, it becomes more real.

What we are building is not just an indoor pickleball club. We hope it will become a place where families, friends, and neighbors can connect, have fun, and build community together.

This week, our family was on site with Ryan as we continued dreaming, planning, and taking in the progress.

We were also glad to welcome Mederios Babb, who stopped by to see what is taking shape here in Visalia.

We are grateful for the excitement, encouragement, and support surrounding this project. We cannot wait to open our doors and share it with the community.
