Fall 2024 Game Spotlight

Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash Bros originally released for the Nintendo 64 back in 1999. While it didn't have the expansive line up it has today, it did feature 12 characters from across a majority of Nintendo's major franchises including Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and more.

After five entries, that lineup has grown ten fold, as new characters have been welcomed into the fray like Cloud and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid, Bayonetta, Simon Belmont from Castlevania and more! Super Smash Bros Ultimate is a fast paced game that can be played solo or in teams and is featured in all three of our leagues. Check out our website for more information and sign up links!

Fall 2024 Game Highlight

Gran Turismo 7

The year was 1992, when a young developer and racing enthusiast by the name of Kazunori Yamauchi dreamt of a video game that merged his two passions together, video games and racing. His goal was to create the world's most accurate racing simulator, allowing car lovers all around the world to get behind the wheels of their favorite cars and race them on their favorite tracks. With his team of five developers (that soon grew to be seventeen), Yamauichi set out to accomplish something that had never been done before. Five years later, in 1998, Gran Turismo was released on the Playstation, selling just under 11 million units, making it the highest selling game on the original Playstation console.

Twenty-five years later, the franchise is still going strong with Gran Turismo 7, a game that takes everything that was amazing about the first entry and brings it into a modern setting. If you're a fan of racing simulators, this one brings you as close to actually driving a car as you can possibly get, in an experience that only the Playstation 5 can offer.

Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap has been mysteriously climbing the ranks of the Steam and mobile app stores, finding success as a "reinvention" of the battle card genre.

In Marvel Snap, each player builds a deck of twelve cards, made up of their favorite super heroes Each battle takes place across a different location (there are three locations total, each revealed during the course of your battle). If you win two of the three locations, you are the winner of that round. The games are short, and the cards look awesome!

Tetris

Tetris was invented in 1985 by Russian designer, Alexey Pajitnov. Due to the laws of Soviet Russia at the time, Pajitnov did receive any royalties until the founding of the Tetris Company in 1996. Nearly forty years later, Tetris has become a title that is synonymous with video games, and has been a gateway to gaming for kids and adults alike.
