aerobic exercise
exercises to strengthen their muscles and bones
Children and young people aged 5 to 18 should:
aim for an average of at least 60 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a day across the week
take part in a variety of types and intensities of physical activity across the week to develop movement skills, muscles and bones
reduce the time spent sitting or lying down and break up long periods of not moving with some activity. Aim to spread activity throughout the day. All activities should make you breathe faster and feel warmer

Fall can be a treat for the senses: the crisp air, apple picking, pumpkin carving, a gorgeous canopy of fall foliage, and the crunch of leaves underfoot. These months are a great time to exercise outdoors and enjoy cooler temperatures.
"Walking, hiking and cycling are all awesome in the fall," says Todd Durkin, MS, fitness coach and owner of Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego, Calif.
Discover park trails and take in some new scenery, whether you're walking, biking, or in-line skating, he suggests.
In places where snow falls early, try cross country skiing or snowshoeing. Or, if you live near the beach, get out and play volleyball, throw the Frisbee around, or play a vigorous game of fetch with your dog.
"It's a great time to do beach activities because it's so much less crowded," says Price.
If you're near a lake, try kayaking or canoeing, for an excellent whole-body workout and a great change of pace.

The change in season brings about a change in climate. Depending on where you live, temperatures could gradually decrease or drastically dip over the next month. Keep this in mind as you plan outdoor activities and invest in breathable, moisture-wicking clothing. Though you may feel chilly at first, your body will quickly warm up once your blood starts pumping so you don't want to overdress either. For those cold morning runs, a hat will help insult your head where you lose the most heat.

Exercising outside feels like a lot less work, especially if you're doing something you enjoy. Relish the cooler weather and take advantage of outdoor adventures before the winter rolls in. Research park trails nearby to enjoy a hike or bike ride amid fall's colorful foliage. Even apple picking or pumpkin gathering with your kids is a fun activity that is sure to burn calories.

One of the key differences between a man’s and a woman’s body is that men are generally less flexible than women. You may not think flexibility is important, but it is. Stretching your muscles regularly will help you move more efficiently, it can also help you stay injury-free and can relax your muscles, in turn reducing stress. Attending yoga or Pilates classes can help you improve your flexibility. Remember, as a general rule, men’s hamstrings, shoulders and lower backs need to be worked on more than other areas of the body, so pay special attention to these parts in flexibility sessions.
