STATE-BOUND AGAIN!!!

Anna Fiemeyer and Kaylee Endres have done it again and are heading back to the individual state tournament in two weeks!

Anna and Kaylee won their semifinal match this morning against the No Parkers Prairie duo #5 seed, 6-1, 6-2, which meant they were in the title match!

In the championship match they had the battle of the year against the No 2 seed from Thief River Falls, winning 3-6, 6-4, 7-5!

Congrats ladies! If you want to go watch these awesome seniors at state, watch for more details to come!

Individual sections have started and we are heading to day 2! Six WDC girls entered in the individual portion of the section 8A girls tennis tournament on Friday afternoon at Courts Plus in Fargo.

Lydia Helmbrecht took on the No. 1 seed and battled hard playing what was possibly her best match of the season but came out on the bottom, 1-6, 0-6.

Emma Weniger also played in incredible match against the #7 seed, and lost 6-3, 2-6, 1-6.

Chloe Phillipy and Isabelle Lemkuhl played the #4 Seed in a fast-paced match and lost 0-6, 0-6.

Anna Fiemeyer and Kaylee Endres MOVED ON TO DAY 2!! They first took on #16 seed and had a huge 6-0, 6-0 victory! Next they rolled into the second match playing the #8 seed and earned another victory, winning 7-5, 6-1. Fiemeyer/Endres will play the #5 seed today at 10 am at Courts Plus in Fargo! Come to Fargo and cheer these girls on!!!

The Wadena-Deer Creek girls tennis team concluded its season Wednesday with a 2-5 loss to Staples-Motley the #1 seed in section team play. The Wolverines battled hard throughout the match, showing determination, grit and a can-win attitude.

WDC picked up two wins: Kendra Leeseberg earned a victory at 4th singles, winning 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, while the 1st doubles team of Kaylee Endres and Anna Fiemeyer also came away with a 6-2, 6-0 win.

Individual competition begins tomorrow at approximately 11 a.m., where six Wolverines will continue their postseason play.

This season was a season marked by growth, teamwork, and effort across the board — congratulations to the team on a solid year representing Wadena-Deer Creek.

We are a “little” late, 2 days to be exact, but we still want to celebrate a junior, Chloe on winning 25 varsity matches!! She beat Pierz to get her 25 wins on Monday!! Congratulations, keep winning!

We want to congratulate another one of this year’s seniors, Kaylee Endres!! Kaylee has been working hard for 5 years and hit 75 varsity wins today against Aitkin!!! Congratulations Kaylee!!! 🎾

Anna and Kaylee defeated Addie Fee and Kaylie Clauson from Crookston. They are awarded a 5th place medal at the 2024 Class A State Tennis Tournament!

Congrats girls this was a great way to end the season!!!

Anna and Kaylee defeated Belle Plaine and now advance to the consolation championship! Play hard and have fun!! 🎾

State update:

Anna and Kaylee continue their run after defeating Pipestone yesterday. They will now battle Lydia Sparby and Kayla Streich from Belle Plaine in the consolation semifinals. Good luck!!

State Update...

Anna and Kaylee are now moving on to the consolation side of the bracket after dropping their first match. They will now play the doubles team of Alicia Haack (12)/Vivian Brockberg (11) of Pipestone at 2:00 pm.
