Grizzly Strength

Yesterday, our good friend Luke Camp suffered a horrible injury while training at his home gym. He was training axle clean and press, he collapsed during the lift and tore both of his quad tendons, broke his leg, and all the ligaments in his right ankle. Luke has a long road to recovery and will be unable to work as a result. If you can spare $10, $20 dollars, that helps him provide for his family.

Luke volunteered his time to judge at our first Haunted Novice Showdown in 2024. He cares deeply about strength sports and helping the next generation of lifers.

This Tuesday we're hosting a Bench Press Night, open to people of all skill levels. Never benched before? Haven't benched in awhile? Come hang out and let's get after it.

Some of the things you could learn:
- How to setup for bench
- How to warm up properly
- What weight jumps to make
- Powerlifting meet standards
- What it feels like to do the most iconic lift of all time

Tuesday August 4th @ 7pm
This event is free, just need to sign a liability waiver.

We're excited to announce that the Turkey Pull (And Press) will be back for it's 4th year in a row. We are thankful for those who have messaged us to ask if we would have this event back this year and here it is. We're also really excited to host this show for the first time at our new location.

We will have the highly coveted, Top Turkey award for the strongest overall male and strongest overall female. The Top Turkey Award gets you an invite to the Turkey Arnold, which doesn't actually exist. But if it did, it is where Earth will choose it's greatest turkeys to combat the Outworld in mutual combat.

Grizzly's Haunted Novice is popping off! There are only 8 spots remaining so don't hesitate. When these spots are filled we will open a waiting list. So tag or share this with someone who planning to attend but hasn't committed.

Not sure if you've heard the news, but Static Monsters has some changes for the 2027 qualifier.

A popular topic in 2026 was the roll out of a Static Monsters Athlete Membership that was roughly $33.50 (£25) and based on the feedback Static Monsters got, they've decided to waive that for 2027.

The other big change is they are rolling out an online qualifier. This would accommodate people who want to participate but cannot do an in-person meet. In an effort towards fairness these results will not be public until the in-persons are finished.

We'd love to know what your feedback is. Should we host again in 2027? Do you see yourself doing an in-person versus an online qualifier?

Grizzly's Haunted Novice Showdown is coming back for year 3. We will be hosting this at Grizzly Strength on October 24. This show is unique as it is focuses on Novice and "Intermediate" athletes. We also have a Teen division for 12-14yrs and 15-17yrs. This is a great opportunity to get "that friend" who has been fence sitting to come out and try the sport.
