None of the 18 kayakers were hurt. It was certainly a very close call and a reminder the beautiful sandstone cliffs are less stable than you may think.

Some explanation: In February I (Joel, owner/operator) accepted the position as Director of the Wakefield Public Library. After much consideration I decided it is neither profitable nor practical to keep SLKR open part-time only, and that the Wakefield Public Library deserves my full attention. I am currently undecided what to do with the business long-term, but will keep you posted. Thank you for your patronage. Best wishes for a great summer!
