Outright Angling Leech Lake

Another great first Muskie caught casting a uniquely patterned crankbait we’ve dubbed “Heirloom Carrots” 🥕 This ended up being another three fish day. Three special lures have done all of our heavy lifting this season, all traditional Muskie casting.

My advice to new muskie anglers: Learn to love the process, and the fish will come. The lakes are beautiful, the lures and gear are super-cool, and the rewards are big. Pictured is Pat (not new to it) with his best fish from a recent half-day muskie trip.

Congrats to Joel on his first 50”er! He also caught his first on a figure 8 the next day! All three of Joel’s children have caught their fist Muskies with me this year. All traditional muskie fishing. If you include sturgeon and 40” pike, Joel has brought a literal TON on fish into my boat.

I’ve been getting a bunch of calls for last minute August Muskie fishing that I can’t accommodate, here’s my available dates:
August 24th, 26th, 31st
September 22nd, 23rd, 29th, 30th
October 2nd,6th-9th,12th-15th,18th-30th

Adam’s first Muskie casting adventure was a success, he bested this hard-pulling 46”er.

This is likely my last post for a while as things are really in full swing. I still have some primo peak-period July casting dates available: July 9 & 10th, 14th-17th, 21st & 22nd. September and October dates as well.
