I think a lot of people come to Yin training thinking they’re going to learn a bunch of poses.
Eventually you realize the value of a training isn’t learning the shapes.
It’s unlearning what you thought yoga was supposed to be.
It’s learning:
How to be quiet.
Seeing each body and each side of the body unique.
Articulating a cue without controlling.
Realizing sensation isn’t something to conquer.
Feeling stillness is harder than movement.
Differentiating between Yin and Restorative.
Actually understanding meridians instead of throwing them into a sequence because you were told they’re “good for the kidneys.”
Grasping all this nervous system talk and how much it control tension.
Learning the Dao and beginning to understand the philosophy underneath the practice.
And then taking all of that off the mat.
That’s the part I love.
Because eventually Yin stops being:
“another style of yoga I teach/do.”
And becomes another way of understanding yourself, your students, your body, your relationships, your work, and your life.
That’s why I created this training.
And why I still teach it.
3 spots left for September training!
Comment YIN and I’ll send you the information.
