Hey Everybody! It's Joyce with the 13u WC team.
It has been a long learning curve for us with the 60/90 baseball but we love the big field!
This season the kids have tried their butts off to be the best they can be. We ended up coming up short a bit, and that's fine. I have always told them work hard today for the goal tomorrow. I would rather us keep learning and be good for our schools than to worry about everything they did today.
One of the major things that changed recently is the coaching staff. I stepped down as head coach, and Jeff Frye has taken my spot. I will continue to keep my position as owner/manager. Bryan Noble has moved to Assistant Coach. I have given everything I had to the kids, and they need more.
I would like to welcome Matt Oakley as the pitching/catching coach. Matt and his son Max traveled with us at the last minute to play at the Shipyard in Charleston. Max is a great kid, and he is a local kid. While we were playing Matt provided awesome input to our pitchers and catchers and they responded well to it. I noticed it, several others noticed it. Max guest played again with us at the next tournament and the same thing happened. Things rolled in a positive direction. That is when I decided to take a step back and to ask Max and Matt to be a part of this. After all, he will be coaching these kids in the future at South Stokes. I feel like Matt is going to be an asset to the kids and teach them things that I couldn't have. Welcome to the team Matt.
Now that we have all of that worked out, I look forward to continuing to consistently improve!
