Quiet moments in the studio full of light.

Reminds me of my mantra this month.

My gratitude runs deep.

Photo number 1 from my photo shoot with [motion]scape photography]]]

What’s unique about Veronika is she’s a Pilates teacher and a photographer so she has that Pilates eye.

If you’re in the movement biz and you need some photos check out [motion]scape photography]]].

Repost from [motion]scape photography]]]

This past weekend I drove up to the Bay Area and photographed ’s debut Pilates studio, Louise Johns Pilates!

As if the name isn’t sophisticated enough, the studio is truly a work of art. Seeing photos of what the space looked like before she moved in compared to now, hearing about all the contributions her brilliant team made to make the space so remarkably beautiful, it’s clear Louise poured her heart and soul into this studio.

I’ve always been a do-it-yourself kind of girl, and prided myself on my ability to do *everything* on my own in a project. But after listening to Louise’s journey and speaking with other small business owners, I’m discovering that you really do need a support team.

You need to outsource. You need experts. You need people in your corner who help make your business shine. And when businesses mutually support each other, we all get to focus on make our living doing what we love.

Studio Moment.

Another one of those special moments in the studio today when your client shines bright.

This guy is 73, he’s been my client for 25 years & he’s amazing.

It’s hard to capture presence & embodiment on camera but it was radiant today.

His commitment, concentration & desire to understand are commendable & even after all these years we still have lots to explore.

Just a girl having some fun teaching on a Friday morning teaching Reformer moves.

It can be lonely teaching to the computer sometimes so I try my best to keep things light & fun.

Laugh at my own jokes, smile as much as I can and genuinely enjoy myself. Once I get the gears going the creativity flows, I have no idea where it comes from but I never get bored. The sequences always seem to go exactly as I hoped they would and when its over I smile and remind myself how grateful I am to do what I love every day.

Oh. And I drink a lot of tea before its movie time. Can’t take the tea out of the Brit no matter how long she's been in California. 😏

Join me on Fridays at 8am PST for Reformer moves, smiles and some bad jokes! :)

Another mesmerizing & and inspiring performance.
I love the connection throughout the whole body. No beginning and no end to the spine.
Beautiful.

Relaxation

What does that mean?

You can’t force it.
You can’t will it.
You can’t ‘do it.
It happens.

Yep.

Shocker!

I’m not so good at letting go, especially over the past year. I find my throat getting tight, my heart rate beating, and all of a sudden, there is a mountain that feels impossible to climb.

For the rest of the year, I’m trying an experiment.

Exhale more.
Meditate.
Take a moment before I freak out and ask myself if it's necessary?
Avoid reacting and be quieter.
Let the little s**t go b/c it's out of my control.
Be a better human.
Incorporate more breath work and relaxation into my practice.
Allow my nervous system to reset.

“To Relax: make or become less tense.”

If you attend any of my online classes, you will probably be joining me to relax. Let’s give it a try.

Wednesdays 8 am PST Pilates Mat & Movement
Fridays 8 am PST Reformer Moves

EXHALE…..

‘Teaching Smile’.

I caught myself on camera smiling, and it reminded me that I love to teach.

It’s not always easy, and some days life is stressful, but I always come back to teaching & more often than not, it makes me feel better.

Each day is a new beginning, and I’m grateful to start again, day after day.

Committing to making an impact in my little corner of the world, one body at a time.

Peace, love, and change people.

As a teacher of movement I love to be movement tips.

Observing how other teachers approach movement hurdles is useful.

Before COVID, I worked in a large studio where I had the opportunity to observe many different teaching styles, and now I’m a one-woman show I use IG to get some inspiration.

Sure, there are lots of excellent movers in the world of IG, and there are gems hidden everywhere.

This video by is a simple the point, and an exercise I’ve not used in a while.

For me, Twisted Teaser is about weight shift. Learning how to shift the bodyweight seamlessly from upper to lower body and then, of course, using upper-lower connectivity to anchor.

And taking the springs off....well, that looks like a fun exploration.

Guess what I’m doing today 😉 Thanks for sharing, love this movement tip.

Have you ever done TEASER TWIST (is that what we call it 🤔?) on the WUNDA CHAIR WITHOUT SPRINGS?!?!? Yeah, me neither until today’s Wunda Chair Class with ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Chris wasn’t trying to make this exercise harder just for the sake of making it harder. Or to make us sweat bullets (although I was 🤣). There was a clear intention behind his choice. And it worked! Nevertheless, I still loathe this blasted exercise 😩. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
