πŸπŸ”§ Race Week Maintenance Complete! πŸ”§πŸ

This week's agenda looked a little less glamorous and a lot more like maintenance:

βœ… Car cleaned
βœ… Tires cleaned and prepped
βœ… Trailer cleaned out
βœ… Nuts and bolts checked
βœ… Grease and l**e applied
βœ… Oil changed
βœ… Valves lashed

Basically, we've been making sure the #87 is ready for another Friday night battle. πŸ‘ŠπŸ

Of course, no maintenance night would be complete without finding something unexpected...

This week's winner? πŸ†

A bent tie rod. Again. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€£

So we'll get that swapped out, make a few setup changes we've been wanting to try, and see what Friday has in store for us.

Now we want to hear from you!

πŸ‘‡ What's your prediction for Friday night?

- Fastest we've been all year?
- Top 10?
- Heat race transfer?
- Or are we just there for the hot dogs and pit conversations? πŸŒπŸ˜‚

Drop your predictions below and let's see who gets closest!

🏁πŸ₯› Montpelier Speedway by the Milkman Recap πŸ₯›πŸ

Well... if drawing a 1 pill means you're fast, we must've missed that memo. πŸ˜‚

We drew the 1 for hot laps, which meant we got the honor of being first onto a track that was an absolute sloppy mess. Cue the mud-covered race car pictures! πŸ“ΈπŸ€£

Despite the conditions, we ended up 5th fastest in our hot lap group, which gave us a little optimism heading into the heat race.

We started 5th in the heat and finished 5th, locking ourselves into the A-Main.

Now came the fun part...

Since we've yet to find what "too tight" feels like on this new setup, we decided to throw the entire kitchen sink at it. πŸ”§πŸ€£

Our thinking was that the track would slick off throughout the night, so we made our adjustments accordingly. Then Montpelier had other plans...

They added water and worked the track back in.

Suddenly our game plan wasn't exactly matching the racetrack anymore. πŸ˜…

The good news? The changes didn't hurt us.

The car actually handled really well. We could run the bottom, middle, and top of the track and it felt comfortable everywhere we pointed it. The bad news? We just didn't have the speed we needed to move forward.

But honestly, for where we're at right now, there are still a lot of positives.

βœ… We raced.
βœ… We learned.
βœ… We had fun.
βœ… We came home with the car in one piece.

And most importantly, we gathered a lot of information that will help us make changes moving forward.

We're still learning this combination and figuring out where the sweet spot is with what is essentially a brand-new car. Every lap gives us more data, and every race gets us one step closer.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us through the rebuilding process and learning curve. We'll be back in the shop making some adjustments and getting ready for the next one! πŸ‘ŠπŸ
