Bitter sweet. We had great final class for Karate and Jujutsu last week August 31st. Everyone broke there boards in Karate and got to finish with some sparring. Jujutsu got to finish with a Sambo style sparring session, mixing there Grappling and striking arts. Congratulations to Wyatt, for his promotion to blue belt in Karate! Thank you everyone who made it to the last class, and to everyone who has supported me along the way. Onto the next part of my martial arts journey.

Reminder: Tonight, August 31st, 2026 is our last class. After tonight's classes, Matt's Martial Arts will not be offering anymore classes. It's been a great two years teaching. I've learned a lot as an instructor, and I've enjoyed teaching these past two years, but for now I'm setting that aside. I appreciate everyone who attended, assisted or visited my classes. It means a great deal to have received your time, your respect, and your trust. Thank you, all for this opportunity.

Went to Lebanon Ohio this weekend to compete at the First in Flight Judo tournament. Third place out of five in my division. Been a while since I've competed regularly. It's great to get back into it but definitely have some things to work on. Had a great time with my wife and getting to see some old friends, including Sensei Russ Conkle and Sensei Peter Hirt. Great to get to catch up a little. Great day over all, always a student. Back to training.
