Happy Mobility Monday ✨🧘🏼‍♀️

Today, we wrap up the series with some more thoracic mobility! Consider these throughout the day, especially if you’ve been sitting at the computer for hours on end🫥

1. T-spine rotation w/ band: 8-10 each side, slow & controlled
2. T-spine extensions on roller: 8-10 reps, exhaling into that extension
3. T-spine extension on bench: 5-8 reps, focusing on sinking down into the stretch with every exhale. You can move into a cat/cow motion in that end range to further emphasize that stretch
4. PVC lift-offs and pulls: 10-15 reps, making sure the work is coming mostly from your upper back rather than your lower back

The movements in this series are only a small portion of the amount of exercises out there to help you move better and feel better. If you have any questions or want some more guidance, don’t hesitate to reach out to a coach! 💪🏻

Happy moving, my friends! 💕

Happy Mobility Monday! 🧘🏼‍♀️✨

It’s time for some thoracic spine mobility!

Let’s be honest…we catch ourselves sitting for looooong periods of time. Whether we’re working a desk job or scrolling on our phones, we’re in one position for too long and our back doesn’t like it 🦐

Making sure our t-spine is moving well can help us in multiple ways:
🔸We can take tension off of our low back, neck, and shoulders🥴
🔸We can maintain better posture 💁🏼‍♀️
🔸 It can allow our rib cage to expand as it should when we’re breathing 🌬️
🔸It can help us move more efficiently in activities, like running, golf, or overhead movements 🏋🏼‍♀️

Try these movements 5-10x each side throughout the work day to break up those long periods of sitting. Your body will thank you ✨

Happy moving, my friends!

Happy Mobility Monday! 🧘🏼‍♀️✨

Our girl, Michelle, here is going to show you a way to stretch the anterior hip, along with movements to work on hip internal/external rotation mobility and control 💪🏻

1. 3-way hip flexor stretch: 2-3second hold each direction, 7-10 rounds. An awesome way to work on hip flexor and adductor flexibility
2. 90/90 hip rotations: 10-20 rotations (5-10 each leg)
3. PAILs and RAILs: Progressive/Regressive Angular Isometric Loading= Providing an isometric contraction to the muscle being stretched, followed by the contraction of the antagonist muscles to pull you in that new range of motion, combined with stretching through that ROM. 2-3x for each position
4. Hip CARs: controlled articular rotations = a great way to focus on activating those muscles to take you through that hip ROM. 8-10x each side. SLOW and CONTROLLED

Happy moving, my friends! See you next week!

Happy Mobility Monday! ✨🧘🏼‍♀️

We’re continuing with hip/low back mobility, but focusing on the adductors (groin muscles) - a muscle group that tends to be ignored more times than not. The role of the adductors is to pull the leg towards midline, but also acts as a stabilizer for our pelvis when we walk, run, or stand. And when the adductors get tight, it can influence how our hips move and rotate during other movements, like squats.

1. Frogger stretch: 1-2 sets for 10-15 reps
2. Side lunge (bonus! Also a strengthening exercise): 1-2 sets for 10-12 reps - alternating or one side at a time)
3. Deep squat with t-spine rotation: 1-2sets for 10-20 reps
4. Adductor rockbacks: 1-2sets for 10-15 reps each side

Happy moving, my friends! Enjoy the rest of your week!
