I know everyone is dealt situations, and events in their lives that do not always seem to be what you had in mind for that certain day.. Well, today my plans were to open up at the course today, make some sandwiches for the senior league and the run some errands and come back for my afternoon lessons. Well, it appears that Mother Nature, without any advanced warning decided to throw as many wrenches into those plans as possible. As my wife and I were headed out at the same time, just before daylight, we both noticed something odd even in the darkness. It did not take us very long to realize that neither one of us were going ANYWHERE. I know other communities had their own issues today as well, and not too make lite of them, I was just not prepared for this view. below is a couple pictures of what a part of our main center yard looks like at our property. As well as part of our circle drive and the drive out to the road. The following will let you see and understand why our day kinda went in other directions. Thank you so Much to my wonderful wife Karri Davis for her endless efforts today with this unplanned mini disaster. Also Much thanks and appreciation to Thomas Fuller of Huntington County Emergency Management for coming out to view, assess and offer suggestion for todays issues and possible future correction to maybe prevent this someday. Also thanks to Barry Dettling for allowing us to take the high ground out of our property up to their house and use his truck to get blowers and other things we needed for clean up and drying.

While it was a somewhat dreary start to the 2026 Dogwood Glen Club Championship match as far as weather was concerned, it did stop raining shortly after the start of the first group going off. There were 37 entries into the event ranging from 11 years all the way to the super super senior division. The sun stayed hidden for almost the entire event, and the wind was almost not even felt at any time. What appeared to be excellent weather for a golf match turned out to be a quiet dampner to the spirits and the golf Gods 🤪 In between preparing the lunches for the groups as they turned to play their final 9 holes, I was able to sneak out and catch a few action vids and pictures of our club champion participants. After deciding to personally withdraw from the tournament myself due to an on going Knee issue, two days before the event, it did allow me to sneak around asnd watch some of the groups and snap a few action pics. Congratulations to the winner and runner up participants in heir respected divisions, as well as all those that showed up and played. enjoy the pics of our participants and share if you'd like.

It may have been a tad moist on the course...lol. last night, but this Golf Academy coach had an absolute blast with not just one, but with 3 of his students putting on a display of insane golf accomplishments. I cold not be more proud of the golf that i witnessed with this group. If there was ever a time that i wished I could have gotten every smooth swing, every amazing approach shot, every perfectly distanced chips, and some stupid crazy good putts on video, then last night would have been the time to get it. The conditions were anything but favorable, but these guys out played this old coach hands down. So proud of all of you... Braydon Poulson, Landon Poulson,
Cooper (Da-Coop) Ralston, and newest student, Zane Fortney.
So very proud of you all. Great show of talent displayed at Dogwood Glen Golf Course yesterday.

This is a song I recently wrote to express to all of my students that giving up or getting angry after hitting one or even more bad shots does not gain you anything. What others shoot while playing against you HAS ZERO AFFECT ON YOUR OWN SCORE. Unless you let it. Only what you do affects your score. so I will always believe and have actually experienced it my self, what the words say........3 BAD SHOTS AND 1 SHOT GOOD...... CAN STILL MAKE PAR. So never give up, quit, or count yourself out until it's all over.

Feel free to share this with your kids or friends that golf. I have no problem with that at all. Happy golfing everyone

Please join me in congratulating our June Student of the month, 13 year old Tyler Nichols. Tyler is starting 8th grade at Southern Wells school and lives in Keystone.
Tyler has been taking lessons at the academy since last year and has made tremendous progress and plays for the Southern Wells golf team. Tyler has an amazing positive attitude as well as an endless sense of humor. It is a pleasure to see his dedication and willingness to work hard to achieve his goal of improving his golf skills. Way to to Tyler, we’re pretty proud of your accomplishments 👍👍
