🐴 A PLACE TO START. A PLACE TO GROW. A PLACE TO COMPETE.
As a new association, KRVC wants to be as complete, thoughtful, and fair as we possibly can from the beginning.
We also understand that building a strong association takes time, experience, feedback, and a willingness to improve.
Our goal is to create competition that is fair, welcoming, and encouraging for ALL levels of riders and horses.
That means we need divisions for the person entering the arena for the very first time.
We need divisions for the rider who is gaining confidence.
We need a place for the horse learning its first Ranch Versatility patterns.
And we need divisions that challenge experienced competitors, accomplished riders, and professionals.
Every one of those competitors belongs at KRVC.
Our Beginner and Green Horse divisions are not about who is “good” or “bad.” They are developmental opportunities designed to give riders and horses the appropriate place to learn, gain experience, and build confidence.
Protecting those divisions also means making sure they remain appropriate for the competitors they were created to serve.
As riders and horses gain experience and outgrow a division, KRVC will do our best to help them move into the division that best fits their current level.
Moving up should be something to be proud of. ❤️
It means you learned.
It means you improved.
It means you gained experience.
And it means you are ready for your next challenge.
At the same time, we know that no two riders or horses develop at exactly the same pace. Eligibility decisions should never be based simply on one great ride, one win, or one successful weekend.
We will always try to look at the whole picture and apply our rules as consistently and fairly as possible.
And because KRVC is still growing, we will continue to review, refine, and improve our rules, divisions, and procedures whenever necessary to make our association stronger and fairer for everyone.
We may not get every detail perfect on the first try, but we will always be willing to listen, learn, and make thoughtful changes when they help us better serve our competitors.
That is how we believe a good association should grow.
Fair competition. Clear divisions. Continued education. Good horsemanship. And a welcoming place to ride.
