Congratulations to Naima and Sebastian on their performances this past weekend.

Sebastian competed at the MAWA Nationals, finishing 6th. He earned his spot by placing top 4 at both the District and Regional MAWA tournaments.

Naima competed at the VAWA Freestyle and Greco State Championships, winning both Freestyle and Greco to become a Virginia State Champion in both styles. She was also named Girls Greco-Roman Wrestler of the Year.

Proud of the work these athletes are putting in year-round and the results they’re earning because of it.

Fauquier’s Naima Rodriguez left her mark as girls wrestling pioneer Fauquier High senior Naima Rodriguez took third at the girls wrestling championship in the first year of the sport being officially sanctioned by the VHSL.

Fauquier is hosting the MAWA District Tournament on March 14! Spots will fill quickly, get registered early to secure your place!

Naima represented the Fauquier Girls Wrestling team at the State Tournament and came home with a 3rd place finish! We are so proud of your dedication and where it has led you.

Fauquier boys showed up and competed at the State Tournament this weekend. 5 qualified, 4 placed, and the team finished 6th overall.

We are so proud of how these boys represented our program and battled through the state tournament. We’re looking forward to continuing our progression forward!

Huge congratulations to Sal Sorrentino, our third wrestler this season to hit this incredible milestone, for locking in his 100th win at the State Tournament.

Sal’s work ethic, consistency, and grit led to this moment. Best of luck to Sal for the remainder of his state tournament run!

Proud of Avery and Naima for competing at the Girls Zone 2 State Qualifier this weekend.

Avery battled through a tough bracket for a 1–2 finish, and Naima fought her way to a runner-up finish, punching her ticket to the State Tournament in Henrico next week!
