This is a picture of my grandparents. I have great memories of visiting Maine and eating whole lobsters at this restaurant with them. Looking back on this, though, what strikes me now is this amazing couple. My grandfather suffered a TBI in a car accident when I was born. I never got to know the “real” him, but I know he worked for the U.S. Mint in Philadelphia for many years (I got proof sets for every birthday growing up!). He could fix, make, or build anything. He served in WW II and was stationed in India, where he fixed aircraft. He came home on a break and married my Grandmom in Rantoul, Illinois. My Grandmom always said the title of their movie could be called “Romance in Rantoul”! Fast forward many years later and they had settled in Philadelphia area and raised four children. Sadly, the year I was born was when their lives changed forever. There are home movies of me and him learning to walk at the same time. This was all I knew growing up. Seeing my Grandmom devote her life to caring for him as he was never the same. She helped him learn to talk again and just stepped up and did whatever was needed to care for him. Thinking about it more now, I am in awe of their love story. I had a front row seat to what unconditional love looks like and the strength that my Grandmom had during all of those years. She drove us to Maine every year for many years and she just loved it there. I could write more chapters, but I will end by saying that I am blessed that I had a real life love story happen before my eyes. It would be a best seller at the box office.

During this upcoming event we will also be doing an art supply drive to update and refill The Kindness Project: A Foster Care Resource’s art activity wall! Supplies collected will be for older youth. Think premade painting kits, adult coloring books, gel pens or fancy marker kits. Items geared towards teens and young adults would be great. TKP will also begin to serve youth in the community through their mobile boutique!

So grateful for my dogs. This one is an emotional girl just like me. Always by my side, especially when I need a little extra love and support.💞🐶

Been singing for my rent and singing for my supper
I’m above the below and below the upper
I’m stuck in the middle where money gets tight
But I guess I’m doing alright
I’m al-, I’m al-, I’m alright
It’s a beautiful day, not a cloud in sight
So I guess I’m doing alright
Oh, oh, I’m alright
I got a good old friend here with me tonight
And I guess I’m doing alright
Well, we had a lot of dreams when we were younger
They thought we were crazy, but we had the hunger
We kept a lot of friends, skipped a lot of class
Been on top of the world and knocked on our
We lost touch, we lost in love
We lost our minds when things got tough
But beating time is a losing fight
And I guess I’m doing alright

Life is full of ups and downs. I’m holding onto all of the ups right now and feeling pretty proud of what I’ve accomplished in a short amount of time. The sky’s the limit, keep reaching for the stars until you get there.

Don't let your inner critic win. Tell it to take a back seat because there is no room for it as you head into a better version of you and your life. Tell it that it's ok not to be perfect. Tell it that it's ok to make mistakes. Tell it that you're going to focus on the things that you did well and that it needs to keep fading into background as you move forward.
