Hey Everyone,
After many mistakes, trials, frustrating nights, and ultimately my smart decision to hire a pro, our website is up and running. Volleyball is hard but technology is more problematic.
Also, we have a small batch of T-shirts for sale. All sales go directly back into the company to help us become a 501-3c and complete our mission.
Check the website out, and let us know what you think. Check back soon for more products and information
See you on the court.

Promote Culture, Not Victories.
I was talking to my past college coach yesterday. While discussing coaching tactics and, mentalities my coach said that sentence.
Anyone who knows me knows my competive nature. While trying to promote IronFox, I've found it easy to fall into the thought " if I don't win, I'm not good enough to coach"
This mentality can create a hostile environment on the court. IronFox was created to spread volleyball to new players and youth. Winning is enjoyable but it's not why I play.
As I get ready to board the plane to Pottstown Rumble, this will be my mentality. Promote the culture of volleyball. The teamwork that makes lasting friendships. The friendly players who give tips to improve strangers proformance. The compliments from strangers that stick around for years in players heads. Even the loses that teach me the area of the game I need to improve.
There are so many reasons I chose volleyball over the dozen other sports i've played. Winning was never one of those reasons.
The truth is, I was not a good player in the beginning. My team would cringe when I went to serve or set. So clearly winning wasn't what attracted me to volleyball.
So this mentality is the plan moving forward. Will it be perfection? Definitely not. Better hopely better. Caring, support and friendly play will attract more players than winning ever will.

Starting a business in a feild you love is always rewarding. That doesn't mean everyday will be. Today was filled with constructing nonprofit paperwork (guess how riveting IRS publication 557 is to read), constructing PowerPoints on the need for Ironfox ( I heard donors like that stuff) and what felt like 50 phone calls (why can't business text ?) to various resource. It can be exhausting, I'd much rather be playing, coaching or watching volleyball. Grind now, so everyone can play later.

There have been many studies that have shown the wide array of benefits that children can get from sports. The growing gap in youth sports due to economic status is causing lower-income kids to play less and not gain these benefits. Many issues with our current pro volleyball leagues like struggling to grow in popularity, can be traced back to these issues. Here are a few reasons why:
Based on a study by Utah State University, the average family spends around per child $650 for a volleyball league. Currently, that amount won't even cover a single season in any competitive volleyball club in RI.
The average cost of youth basketball for a season is $427, meanwhile, volleyball which uses almost the same equipment and space costs an average of $595 per season. That $163 difference per season despite little requirement differences.
The average age of a player introduced to volleyball is 12.3, the second-highest age behind track and field. Soccer and baseball sit at 9.1 and 10.5 in comparison. The same study links household income to be the most influential factor in age to start participation.
Due to late entry into sports, the average length of participation is an average 2 years, the lowest for any team sport.
Household income is preventing our youth from playing at all, making them play the sport later and for shorter amounts of time than other team sports. This prevents volleyball from reaching more players and prevents the sport from growing at all levels.
Every kid who wants to play volleyball should get the chance. IronFox Volleyball aims to make this possible. For more information view the link below or stay tuned for most posts.
