Tonight is our first session in almost a year and a half!

Meet us at 20 North Main St (in front of the RISD Museum on North Main Street) at 10:00pm to catch the bus and knock a ball around!

RISD STUDENTS: SUPER IMPORTANT
All RISD students NEED to RSVP online at the Involved event page. You can find that linked at the bottom. You need to do this to sign the liability waiver and to give RISD CSI an account of who's attending. Also, you'll notice there is an event cap of 44 people! That's 4 teams of 11 on the pitch. We play 7 a side, so the reason for this cap is because after 44 people (4 teams, 7 on field, 4 subs), the sessions become too crowded. This is NOT a strict cap. You are welcome to come no matter how many people there are. It is just there to give you an indicator of how busy we might be tonight.

BROWN STUDENTS:
Once again, it's free for y'all now, so leave your cash at home. Also, I'll have physical waivers for you to sign on the bus. Don't worry about Involved for now.

EVERYONE:
MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Please bring your mask and bring a spare just in case. It's not ideal of course but let's not get the club shut down on the first session back please.

Bring water! We'll be playing small-field indoors on an artificial turf field, so dress accordingly!

Hello everyone!
Welcome to those of you who are new and welcome back to everyone who's been here before. This is RISD Midnight Soccer. We'll be playing weekly pick-up soccer at a local indoor facility all year NOW INCLUDING WINTERSESSION.

That is just the first of a few changes from the Midnight Soccer of years past. Let's get to it.

SCHEDULE
First things first, WE ARE STARTING THIS WEEK. Our first session is this THURSDAY, OCT 7TH. The way this works is we catch a bus from 20 North Main Street (The RISD Museum), take a 15 minute drive to Teamworks Warwick, play 7 vs 7 on 2 fields at the facility for 2 hours, and then take the 15 minute drive back to RISD. In previous years, we used to begin the event at midnight (hence the name). However, that sucks. This year, we will be moving things a little earlier, in the interest of survival. The bus will arrive at 10:00pm and leave at 10:15pm on the dot. That lets us play from 10:30pm - 12:30pm. We'll take the bus back and (accounting for delays) should have you back to RISD by 12:30am, just past midnight.

FORMS
Next, we used to require every participant to fill out a printed liability waiver, usually on the moving bus. That's gone too. The forms are now fully digital. To "sign" them, all of you need to visit the Midnight Soccer page on Involved. You should see the next Midnight Soccer session under "Upcoming Events". Click on it and you will be able to RSVP for the event. The RSVP form contains the waiver, so PLEASE FILL IT OUT BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. This should work for Brown students too. If it isn't working, send me a message.

Also, RISD requires us to keep track of who's attending the event, so you'll need to check in when you arrive. That part is easy, luckily. On the Involved page, if you click your profile in the top right corner, you'll see a button for Event Pass. Just pull that up (you can save it to Apple Pay and Google Pay) and I'll scan it.

You all will receive a notification from Involved sooner after this email asking you to confirm your roster status as part of Midnight Soccer. Please make sure you accept the invitation so I can add you to our official roster!

NEW MEMBERS
If you have friends who want to join, tell them to contact me directly. I can be reached through email ([email protected]), Instagram (), or through the page. Also, Midnight Soccer is now FREE for Brown students. Dumb that it ever wasn't. Anyways.

Hello Midnighters!
It's been a while. Time for some updates.

First things first: We WILL be allowed to play this semester. RISD CSI has confirmed this and now we're just waiting on confirmation for our dates this semester. Stay tuned on that.

We're happy to announce that Midnight Soccer is now FREE for Brown University students! No more cash handovers in the back of the bus.

Also, we're digitizing our permission form so you can simply scan a QR code and be all checked in. No more flashlights and loose papers in the back of the bus!

Lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, please fill out the form linked below to be placed on the official mailing list. All updates will be sent through that channel and posted here, but the email is our preferred method of communication.

Hey Midnighters,
Welcome back! Midnight Soccer starts back up again this Thursday (February 20th).
We will be operating on a weekly basis until the end of April. Isaac Gamboa, who some of you may know, has been added as a co-captain. Feel free to direct any questions to him, Manav, or me (Varun). We've recently finished rebranding the club's old logo! Check it out in the profile photo.

Hi everyone, we're finally back for the fall semester.

We also have a new meeting time! By popular demand, Midnight Soccer now meets from 11pm to 1am. The bus leaves from the same spot as last year (outside 20 North Main Street) at 10:45pm. Be there at 10:30.

Unfortunately, RISD has remained adamant that we must charge Brown students $10 per session.

Lastly, a note about safety:
We are all for a good, clean, crunching tackling here at Midnight Soccer but do keep in mind this is a casual sports club and we all have places we'd rather be than the emergency room on a Thursday night. Please play the game cleanly and without the intent to injure. We've had a spotty track record with injuries in past years, in large part due to the tall rigid walls around the fields at Teamworks. Play the game how you'd like, but be careful tackling near the walls. We're all here to have fun. Let's make sure it stays that way.
