The Washington Capitals have named Ray Bennett an assistant coach.
Bennett joins Washington after spending one season as an assistant coach with the New York Islanders and eight seasons with the Colorado Avalanche, winning the Stanley Cup with the team in 2022.

The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Timothy Liljegren to a two-year, $6.5 million contract extension. Liljegren's contract will carry an average annual value of $3.25 million.
