As a shop that’s been in business 60+ years we’ve obviously got some history, and sometimes that history stops by for a visit. We were stoked to see this immaculate Super return for some work but we were blown away by the additional bit of history the customer brought with them. Last slide is the original purchase receipt from 1975!! Imagine picking up a new Colnago for $700 these days. 🤯😅

Also notice the slight address differences; 3405 (now 3403) and 20037 (now 20007). Wonder if we should re-adopt the “Catering To The Connoisseurs” slogan? 🤔

Seasonal Specific Bicycle™️ Example. The Stigmata is the perfect bicycle to participate in cyclocross racing endeavors. It does many things well but it excels at driving through muddy turns and navigating wicked off-cambers. And seeing as this is cyclocross season, you should totally get one.

Obviously , but it’s never not road season here at BPS! Coincidentally, this TCR Advanced Disc 1+ AR is a fine example of a road season bicycle.

**Group Rides Are Back**

Tomorrow night will initiate the return of our mountain bike group rides!!

The ride will start on Thursday at our Springfield store at 5:30pm. We will be riding across the street over to Wakefield and Lake Accotink Park. Bring lights and all are welcome to attend. Cold beer will be available at the shop after the ride for those over 21.

Just finished building these Bronson Carbon S models (M & L) and have two medium CC frame sets for those who want it their way.

Mixed wheels is the name of the game for the new Bronson. 29” up front gives you the traction and stability you need, and 27.5” in the back gives you the playfulness you want. You could say it’s business in the front, party in the back, but the entire thing is ready to throw down.

Fits are back on the menu here at Bicycle Pro Shop! After a long hiatus in 2020, we're officially opening fits back up in our shops. All scheduling of appointments will be handled via email ([email protected]) by our new fitter, John.

John is a licensed physical therapist in the state of Virginia with over a decade of road riding and racing experience. His passion for cycling began in college racing for the Indiana University of Pennsylvania cycling team in the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference. That passion has followed John as he currently trains and competes with his Whole Wheel Velo Club teammates in the Mid-Atlantic Bicycle Racing Association and beyond. John has worked at Bicycle Pro Shop while completing the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Marymount University and is eager to add his expertise of human physiology to the RETUL bike fit system.

Spotted: an ultra-rare unicorn 🦄 prepared for ripping terrain in its natural habitat. We named it S-Works Stumpjumper EVO because it seemed the most appropriate. What a splendid beast.

If we had only one piece of advice this holiday season it would be: SHOP EARLY. Also maybe shop often 😜 but definitely shop early. Cycling has seen an overwhelming bump in popularity over the past year and availability has been strained, to say the least. Our holiday gift guide is live on our site (link in bio) with a vast array of ideas for the cyclists on your list. And even if the perfect gift you’re looking for isn’t immediately available, you can give them a gift card so they can grab it when it is. Since its introduction, the Chisel has been one of our favorite bikes in the shop. Think Epic geometry with an aluminum price tag. And Specialized’s D’Aluisio Smartweld technology (DSW) removes the weight and ride quality penalties typically associated with aluminum. Drop the hammer without dropping the cash!

Both our Springfield and Georgetown shops will be closed this Monday (9/7) in observance of Labor Day. Which means you should totally go out for a bike ride!
