DC Sail - Youth Sailing DC Sail is the community sailing program of National Maritime Heritage Foundation. We are a community sailing program in DC offering sailing lessons, rentals, racing, Schooner cruises and youth sailing programs.

Our mission is to promote and sustain affordable educational, recreational, and competitive sailing programs for all ages in a fun and safe environment. We do so through efforts like our Youth Scholarship Program, which funds low-cost opportunities for children in our local community to gain access to the joy of sailing!

We are excited to announce a new Fleet Revitalization Capital Campaign. This campaign will involve three phases, with a goal of replacing our Flying Scot Sails, Flying Scot Hulls, and FJ Sails over the course of the next several years. The first phase has a goal of $13,000 and launches today. All of our programming will be impacted positively by these efforts, and we need your help to make it a reality!

School’s Out for Summer and DC Sail is THE place to be! 😎⛵️Schooner Camp, our nationally recognized and award-winning program that takes place aboard our 65-foot double-masted schooner, “American Spirit,” for campers age 12-18! (No sailing experience is required!) Campers spend their day learning to sail, with a STEM influenced curriculum including exploring navigation and charting skills, weather, flora, and fauna studies and building an awareness of the human impact on our fragile waterway systems.
