โœ… Although I do not recommend it; Yes, you can drink alcohol and still lose fat and gain muscle. HOWEVER, the quality of your food and drinks matterโ—๏ธ Alcohol is considered empty calories, meaning these calories have no โŒ nutritional value. Carbs in Guinness and carbs from a sweet potato affect your body in very different ways.

๐Ÿท If you're going to have a beer or a drink, make sure you're hydrating, eating nutrient dense foods, and getting plenty of sleep ๐Ÿ’คto help your body process the alcohol.

In the few months since I've been training here, I've made significant athletic improvements!! Carmen's programming has helped me target areas of my lifts that have long posed the greatest challenges. My bench press and back squat maxes have improved by a whopping 15lb each, and my deadlift is finally at 225lb โ€” all of which happened after recovering from minor surgery. I'm so grateful that Ambitious has helped me make huge improvements in my all-around athleticism.

After moving to DC for my first full-time job, I started training at Ambitious Athletics in August of this year. I had been consistently training for about a year with a really tight gym community near my university, so I was a little apprehensive about trying somewhere new. Before my first session, I had a Zoom call with Carmen, during which I learned what Ambitious was all about and realized that my fitness goals really aligned with his approach! When I finally got to see the space, I was super impressed with the gorgeous facilities and the care and attention that Kam and Carmen put into my orientation.

Though it's only been a few months, I feel like I've been training here for years! I've made friends at Ambitious, who I look forward to seeing after a long day of work, who I laugh with, and who support me and cheer me on when I'm having a hard day. We come from all over the world, with super different backgrounds, and train not just to lift the most today but to keep ourselves strong for a long time.

I'm incredibly grateful for the community I've found at Ambitious Athletics. I've been able to share it with my boyfriend and my parents (pictured above!), and they all agree that what we have here is really special. I hope to keep crushing it with this group of incredible people for many more years! Thanks to Carmen and Kam for making it all happen.

Each time you make a change, challenge yourself to build on it with even more action steps. That way, youโ€™ll eventually make healthy eating a habit.

๐™ˆ๐™ฎ ๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™ค๐™ง๐™ฎ... ๐™‹๐™–๐™ง๐™ฉ โœŒ๐Ÿฝ

My love ๐Ÿ’™ for training stems from the activities I did with my dad at the gym, in the batting cage, on the golf course, on roofs, and everywhere in between prior to his aortic dissection. And my pride in and passion for training grew from being able to do so much with him as he worked toward recovery. The memory of my dad reminds me to treat every client the way I would treat him.

His rare condition planted too many questions in my head in which Iโ€™ll never have all the answers to, but I quickly started my research just after his death later in 2006.

Since 2008 Iโ€™ve earned many certifications through various credible sources enabling growth in my philosophy and knowledge for the human body. The certifications I hold are also held and used by some of the most credible coaches in the world.

Although Iโ€™d like to help as many people as possible, I canโ€™t stand ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ to work with those who really donโ€™t care about their health and body overall.

Many of my past and present clients can tell you, I will go out of my way ๐Ÿ’ฏ and make time for you and any questions you might have. The time spent with my dad during those weeks in the hospital reminds of why I enjoy working with clients on a personal level. I love helping people succeed.

Since beginning this career path, Iโ€™ve had the pleasure of working with and meeting some amazing people from all over the world. Iโ€™d like to think that my dad is happy knowing that heโ€™s inspired me to live a life helping others.

More isn't better; you can't out-train a poor diet, rely on caffeine, have a low-grade sleep routine, and only use high-intensity training.
