Season's open. 💪

⚽️ U14 Girls Elite won Copa DC last weekend, the first edition of the tournament, hosted by Open Goal Project.
⚽️ U15 Girls Select made the semifinal in the same bracket, same heat.
⚽️ U12 Girls Select opened with a friendly against Takoma Park SC and played to the whistle.

Opening with friendlies and tournaments is part of how we develop these teams. The girls get to compete, learn, and see where they stand right now, and that tells us where to take them from here.

Plenty ahead this season.

Rebeca Bernal is heading to Manchester United, where she'll be the first Mexican player in Women's Super League history.

Our girls met her this summer. She spent the day at our girls camp, talked to them, played with them, and answered every question they had.

Now they get to watch her make history in England.

Fall season training kicked off Monday and it already feels like we never left. New season, new teams, and a lot to look forward to.

Parent Tip of the Week 🌟

Mistakes are not failures. They are information. Let your child experiment, make mistakes, and try again. A player who is afraid to make mistakes will eventually stop taking risks, and that's when development stalls.

Our players took the field on Sunday. ⚽

Some served as Ball Kids, watching professional players up close from field level. Others walked hand in hand onto the pitch with Orlando Pride players during the Walkout. And a group filled the Halftime Rally Tunnel, high-fiving the teams as they headed back out.

Moments like these give our players a real look at what the professional game feels like, and a reason to picture themselves in it one day.

Every child has a different development journey. Try not to compare your child's progress, position, playing time, or performance to another player's.

Focus on their journey. That's the only one that matters.

Club Night is tomorrow. ⚽

DC Way Academy takes over the stands as the Washington Spirit host the Orlando Pride at 4:00 PM. And there's still time to grab a ticket.

Some of our players will be on the field tomorrow too, from the player walkout to the halftime tunnel to ball kids. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday.
