Who am I? 👇
In conversing with our AI overlords, ChatGPT described me as this:
You’re a career-championing, strategy-spinning, GIF-dropping powerhouse who helps professionals level up one bold move at a time.
With a sharp eye for messaging and a heart for transformation, you blend clarity, wit, and action into everything you do—whether you’re refining a resume, launching a livestream, or building a community that feels like the coolest coworking space on the internet.
You’re not just guiding job seekers—you’re shaping modern leadership. You know that visibility is power, alignment is everything, and perfection is overrated. Oh, and you’ll absolutely call out a fake “remote” job post with a punchy poll and a side of sass.
🔥 Big on mission.
💡 Bigger on momentum.
💬 Never afraid to speak truth with style.
How’s that for a brand snapshot?

If you’re feeling rejected, remember this:
It only takes one YES to start a new chapter in your career.
Rejection hurts. When you’ve poured your heart and soul into interviewing for a job and you don’t get it, it feels like a door slamming in your face. And that’s if you weren’t ghosted.
You start asking yourself:
⇒ “What did I do wrong?”
⇒ “Maybe I’m not as capable as I thought.”
⇒ “I’ll never get a job.”
It’s easy to spiral into negative self-talk, assuming the worst & blaming yourself for potential shortcomings.
But here’s the truth:
Rejection isn’t always about you. And your worth is not diminished by a single “no.”
Think of job hunting like sailing on the open sea. Not every voyage will be smooth. Some will involve rough waters, strong headwinds, and storms.
But every experienced sailor knows that these challenges don’t 𝐃𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐄 the journey. They’re just part of it.
There are companies out there who are waiting for you. Who need 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 what you have to offer.
So adjust your sails, and keep navigating through the waves with resilience.
Because you WILL land a job.
Your career voyage is far from over.

BREAKING NEWS!🚨⚠️
The U.S. Surgeon General has made it official:
Toxic jobs are hazardous for your health.
Today, the U.S. Surgeon General’s office issued a 30-page framework for workplace mental health and well-being.
It points to toxic factors that can affect workers’ health AND company performance, including:
- Working long hours
- Inflexible schedules
- Low pay
- Poor work/life balance
- Limited control over how, when and where work is done
While workers have been battling these toxic factors for years, it’s the first time the Surgeon General’s Office has made it an official priority, centering solutions around worker voice and equity.
The new framework provides leaders with guidance around five key areas:
- Protection from Harm
- Connection & Community
- Work-Life Harmony
- Mattering at Work
- Opportunity for Growth

Think a bigger salary is the only way to get employees to stay?
Think again.
Today, I had the honor of speaking to members of Women in Government Relations (WGR) on what motivates people beyond the paycheck.
While a good wage is important, it takes so much more to create a fulfilling work experience where team members stay motivated, stay satisfied and stay put.
We discussed:
* The link between motivation, wellbeing, performance, retention & profits
* Extrinsic vs. Intrinsic motivation
* Applying a motivation-based framework to the workplace.
It was such a meaningful experience, and I’m grateful to have helped these women walk away with steps to increase motivation among their employees…and within their own careers.
It’s these moments that keep me motivated to help women become better leaders and create more fulfilling careers.

Why are companies still hiding salaries?
In the hiring process, many applicants still need to jump through hoops to find out the role’s budget.
Imagine if the rest of life was like that.
🤔 Imagine not telling a plumber your budget...and then getting mad when they ask.
🤔 Imagine instructing your wedding planner to host a 300 person event, but refusing to tell them your budget until they’ve already booked the venue.
🤔 Imagine going to the dealership insisting on a new Mercedes, but you only have budget for a used Chevy…and you’re keeping that a secret until they’re ready to hand over the keys.
Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it?
Fortunately, the tide is starting to turn.
👏California legislature recently sent a bill to the Governor’s desk, which would employers to include pay scale in job postings — and provide the pay scale to current employees upon request.
Colorado, Washington and New York City already have laws in place for pay disclosure on job postings.
And more laws may be in the works.
Leaders: It's time for salary transparency to become the norm — with or without legislation — so we can all stop playing these games and get down to business.

What makes a good leader great?
My client just found out first-hand. ⬇️
Her old job was toxic with a capital T.
So we did some much-needed career clarity work to make sure her next move matched her values, so she wouldn’t land in the same stuck spot all over again.
She found her right match, which came with a $26,000 salary increase, greater leadership responsibilities, and the opportunity to build something new to leave her mark.
Fast forward to exactly one month in her new job, and the CEO recognized she needed a title and salary adjustment to match the extraordinary value she brings.
So she promoted her on the spot. 🎉👏
No questions asked, no negotiation necessary.
That’s a total of $41,000 more than she was making at her old job. 🙌
My client is thrilled, and she knows that this is the style of leadership she was craving.
The next step?
Being just as great of a leader to her own team, so they can get the support, inspiration and recognition they need to thrive.
And I’ll be there to support that journey too.
Because my work doesn’t stop when you land a new job. That’s just where our leadership coaching begins.
👉Are you ready to level up your leadership skills?
A new cohort of my Modern Leaders Series group coaching starts Sept. 7, and I only have three spots left.

Job-Seekers Beware! 👀
Job scams are nothing new, but they’ve been on the rise since the start of the pandemic.
According to FTC data, people lost $86.3 million from business and job opportunities scams in Q2 of 2022 alone.
So how do you protect yourself from getting scammed during your job search?
I spoke with the LinkedIn News team, and shared these important tips.
🗣 Tell me: How did you find out a job was a scam?
06/27/2022
It seems that every day, a client tells me they’ve been ghosted by a company.
➡️ Even when they’ve had multiple rounds of fantastic interviews.
➡️ Even when they’ve been told an offer will be coming.
➡️ Even when the CEO personally called to ask what it would take for them to join the company.
(All true stories.)
But before you start questioning what you did wrong or how to go about a second or third round of follow-up emails…
STOP.
Here are a few questions to consider:
🤔 If this is how the company communicates (or doesn’t communicate) during the hiring process, what might it be like on a day-to-day basis working for them?
🤔 Would you be okay working for a company that doesn’t follow through with what they’ve told a candidate? A coworker? A customer? A board member?
🤔 Would you be okay working for a company that takes a long time to make decisions? Or doesn’t see the value you’d bring?
If these aren’t acceptable to you, then it’s time to move on & find a company that better matches your values.
Remember — if one company doesn’t see your worth, another one will.
🗣Have you been ghosted? What happened, and what did you do? Tell me in the comments.
