HVAC is a competitive, DC-based mixed ultimate team entering it's third year. We plan to build upon our successes continue growing in the 2020 season.
Last year, we finished the season ranked 11th at the Mid-Atlantic Mixed Regional Championship.

Hey Everyone!
In memory the 2020 Sectionals that could have been, we are participating in a Giving Grid Fundraising Series on September 12-13th with DC Rally and Scandal Ultimate. We hope to take some of the money that would have been spent on 2020 Sectionals and give it back to our local community.
Details:
HVAC/Rally/ Scandal will post their respective Giving Grid on September 12th.
Members of the community will have 48 hours to claim as many squares as they would like. Individuals who choose to donate will send their contribution to a centralized Venmo.
The total “Giving Grid” is $50, which is about how much each player pays to attend sectionals - and our goal is for each team to use their grid to raise money for a local organization(s) that serves the community.
Ideally, each rostered player would try to commit the $50 they would spend on Sectionals, but we understand everyone’s situation is different. The grid is a sliding scale to accommodate a variety of financial circumstances, and you can choose to donate or simply repost.

Last but not least, Chuck Summers will be joining HVAC as Coach for his second year, much to our surprise! Chuck joined HVAC by subscribing to an email listserv that he thought was Phat’s cooking blog only to be duped into coaching after a Wildwood Saturday evening. Chuck has a rich history of playing ultimate with UNC Darkside, Melbourne University mixed team, US Mixed Master’s and barefoot pick-up. His favorite quarantine activities are home ownership, walking his dog, and socially distant kayaking. We truly feel blessed to have this faux-Aussie teach us about hasty flick hucks and whisky distilling techniques.
If he doesn’t sound like the coach for you, we don’t know who does!

Our final captain for the 2020 season is Eric “Shorty” Yoon, named for successfully shorting the dot com bubble at just four years old.
Favorite Quarantine Activity: Attending virtual EDM concerts solo
Number of Bandanas Owned: 72
Skills: Holding entire conversations using only pikachu gifs and side-eye, beating people a foot taller than him deep, and getting tons of layout Ds.
Cons: Goes to bed at 9 pm
Eric’s dedication to HVAC is exemplified by him commuting to practice via metro from Maryland for two years running. If that’s the type of dedication you want to see out of your captains, then check out HVAC!

HVAC 2020 Captain Announcements!
Our first HVAC captain announcement is Ben “Ravioli” Frattini. Described as having the best flick huck among all mid-Atlantic mixed players named after pasta. True to his namesake, Ravi is rough around the edges but truly a softy at heart…and is also super square. He’s had a number of achievements in his life, including learning to ride a bike at 25 years old and being the first to discover the strengths of Miracle-Gro plant food with beard growth. In addition to giddily surveilling the HVAC interest form, Ravi has spent most of his COVID quarantine telling people about his weekly board game nights…and not inviting them.
