SoHo Classic Table Hockey Tournament, Mount Vernon, Virginia, Sat., Feb. 22, 2025

Invitational Tournament at a private club within one mile of both Fort Belvoir's military base and the George & Martha Washington's Mount Vernon Estate

Guests may be non-members but must sign up through a club member (I am a member).

Registration Deadline: Everyone must be signed up via the club's sign up list on its website before Friday, February 21.

Tournament Date & Time: Saturday, 09:00 doors open, tournament starts 10:00, February 22, 2025

Ages: Registrants / Players Must Be 13 years old or older

Registration Fee / Cost to Enter
$20 per adult (ages 21+)
$10 per teens (ages 13-19)
$40 Family Max

Family friendly price ceiling for families with one or more teens participating e.g.,

For example, 2 adults participating and 1 or more teens participating ($20+$20+$10=$50) is capped at $40

Tournament Hours
09:00 am - Doors Open. You May Practice on the Table Hockey Games

09:30 am - Registration, Final Setup, Group Assignments, and Instructions

10:00 am - Round Robin (RR) Play Within Your Assigned Group

12:30/1 pm (or when RR completes) - Lunch Break, 30-45 Minutes. Standings Compiled. Playoff Pairings and Instructions Announced.

1:30 pm (estimated) - Playoffs

4 pm (estimated) - Championships & Photos

Winner Medal / Trophy
Adults (20+) - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
Teens (13-19) - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

Food and Drink
Costco - Pizza, fruits, vegetables, sodas. Alcohol is Bring Your Own or What’s Available Already On-site

PostScript - We are working with the Mount Vernon District, Fairfax County, to host an annual event or possibly two annual events each year using a variety of table / bubble hockey games.

Glenn Dreyfuss, produces and is one of the hosts of Hockey Time Machine. Past guests have included Lanny McDonald, Scotty Bowman, NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly, and the cast of Slap Shot.

Currently, he covers the Seattle Kraken for The Hockey News and is a member of the Society for International Hockey Research. In addition to local TV sportscasting, Glenn has produced network shows for PBS, HGTV, Versus, DIY and Food Network.

Gerry McNamara, always a gentleman, is a Canadian former goaltender, scout and general manager with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Currently, he is a valued member of the famous, Hockey Time Machine.

Sean Mitton, co-author of When Canada Shut Down, written along with fellow Hockey Time Machine colleagues Paul Patskou and Alex Braverman.

LITTLE RINK will be screened as part of short film showcase at NEW PLAZA CINEMA in NYC on Friday September 27th at 7pm. This is the first time it will be seen on a big screen and perhaps the last! (Unfortunately, because the movie was released during COVID, all screenings were virtual.)
