It's a big day for Wilby Athletics today. Proud of our 4 football players and 2 girls' basketball players who officially signed to continue their athletic careers at the next level.

Shout out to everyone involved, families, coaches, teachers, administration, teammates, and supporters who helped these student-athletes reach this moment.

Special thanks to Wilby Football Class of 2025 alumnus Jacob Berrios for returning and speaking to the kids today.

Celebrating the grind.

Shoutout to all our award winners, well deserved and earned through the work. Proud of every one of you.

Big thank you to our coaches, staff, and everyone involved behind the scenes who helped make the night special. This doesn’t happen without you.

Appreciate the catering from on Chase Ave in Waterbury. Everything was on point.

This was more than a banquet… it’s a reflection of the standard we’re building. And we’re just getting started.

Appreciate the opportunity to get up to UConn Football Spring game with the team. Good football, great competition, and a chance to learn. Now it’s on us to bring that energy back and keep building.

Bring daily:
• Workout clothes
• Proper footwear
• Outdoor / weather-appropriate gear
• Water bottle

Training may be indoors and outdoors.

Started on the D-Line as a sophomore and worked his way into becoming a difference-maker at every level of our defense.
These past two seasons, he’s been the heartbeat of our unit — 90 tackles in 9 games and a relentless motor.

Straight dog.
Huge future ahead.

Shavar Reed, Class of 2026 RB/DB #3
He’s been making an impact since day one, and now he’s earned Second Team All-NVL Offense, with votes on defense as well.
Proud of his growth, his work ethic, and the standard he sets for Wilby Football.

Tonight we sent our seniors off with our Walk-Off tradition,one last reminder of what they’ve meant to this program. Every step they’ve taken, every practice, every moment of growth… it all led to this point.

I appreciate each one of you for showing up, for leading, and for pushing through the ups and downs of this season. You’ve laid the foundation for what’s coming next at Wilby.

Tomorrow we go into our game vs. WCA with pride, with purpose, and with the strength of the seniors who’ve carried us. This moment is about them, their journey, their leadership, and the legacy they leave behind.
