As our after-school program is winding down, we had the pleasure of welcoming one of my closest friends from high school, who returned to the center with her boys and program to donate books to the kids, followed by a nice dinner courtesy of Jersey Mike's and snacks. The children had the opportunity to learn about the civil rights movement, participate in games, and receive some swag, in addition to the books. Every child had a wonderful time and enjoyed themselves. We extend our gratitude to Zeek and Jeremy for visiting and addressing our after-school program.

Our after-school program is pleased to have participated in a tree planting initiative around the North End Recreation Center, thorough planning and preparation. This endeavor was facilitated through the collaborative efforts of Nest, our staff and the children, who thoroughly enjoyed planting five trees, with a small Christmas tree to be added in the near future. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Nest for their generous investment in our center, and to Mr. Josh and Mya, who demonstrated unwavering dedication to ensuring the project's successful completion. We are deeply appreciative of their efforts in highlighting the significance of trees, which are vital for life on Earth, providing oxygen, purifying the air, sequestering carbon, creating habitats for biodiversity, preventing soil erosion, offering economic resources, providing shade for cooling, and promoting mental health benefits for humans.

Day 4 of spring break camp was an unforgettable experience as we embarked on our final field trip to visit The Bee Keeper Holley at the Love and Care Community Garden, a truly inspiring destination. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mya Gray, Mr. Josh, and Ms. Holley for welcoming our Center and providing an enriching experience. The visit was further enhanced by the presence of Ms. Katiana, who graciously shared her remarkable artwork with our program. Take a glimpse at the incredible sights and experiences our kids enjoyed today.

Day 3 of spring break was an absolute blast, filled with creativity and self-expression as kids crafted their own pasta dishes with sauces of their choice. After an action-packed morning of singing, outdoor play, and gym time, the kids took a mindful break, exploring yoga and discovering healthy ways to manage overwhelming emotions. A huge thank you to the Built4Success team for empowering our kids with essential life skills and emotional intelligence.

Day 2 for spring break, we took a wild ride to Urban air, we all lost our minds having the best time ever came back and had a movie set up with pizza and popcorn, talk about a win. 🥰
