Opening night of Waterford Little League majors softball and baseball is FRIDAY, April 21st!!! Come down to the field for dinner and some ⚾️🥎! K’s Kart will start setting up at 4:30, so even if you can’t stay for the later game under the lights because of Dancing with the Stars ✨ you can still grab dinner first! First game is 5:30. The concession stand will also be open to start using those gift cards!

" Who’s Coach Ballgame?  

James “Coach Ballgame” Lowe was a 4 year starter at Brown University, where he was a captain and All Ivy League Outfielder.  He’s spent the last 20 years coaching youth baseball all over the country.  He has partnered with MLB and PLAY BALL to coach camps and grow the game of baseball.  He has also partnered with the Chicago Cubs and FOX SPORTS as an ambassador.

His mission is simple.  Get kids to fall in love with baseball.  He has a unique ability to engage kids of all ages through the use of music, poetry, and enthusiasm.  

His National Sandlot Tour passes through Waterford, CT August 11th.

The Sandlots are open to Boys and Girls, ages 5-12.  

What to expect at Sandlot:

In a span of 3 hours, the kids will…
• Receive Nicknames
• Do Trivia contests for baseball cards
• Stretching 
• Base Running 
• Work the skills of Catching, Throwing, Pitching, Fielding and Hitting 
• Play Scrimmage Games
• They will hear stories of Roberto Clemente and Jim Abbott 
• Awards will be given out for good choices.

The lens Coach Ballgame looks through is simple:  Give kids the most FUN day possible, while simultaneously building their character.  

These Sandlots serve 2 important purposes:

1) 3 hours of pure joy for these kids.  A night they will remember forever.

2) It serves as a Coaches Clinic and a Parent Clinic for the adults in the community.  They gain resources which they can use in their upcoming seasons.
