Proud to TRI The Proud to TRI- youth triathlon is a swim, bike, run event held each year in Southeastern, CT. We Calling all kids/teens- are you up for the CHALLENGE?

The 2nd Annual PROUD TO TRI- youth triathlon on Saturday, September 12 at 8:00 AM. Location- Camp Harkness State Park
(Race lasts a total of 1 1/2 to 2 hours approx. depending on the number of participants)

This event is for everyone from the fastest athlete to the first time runner- you will be amazed at what you can accomplish! We have first time triathletes as well as accomplished athletes who have completed 10+ races. We offer medals to every participant who crosses the finish line. We are promoting fitness in our youth. Participants age 5-17 compete in a swim portion, bike portion, and run portion of the race. The swim starts at Camp Harkness Beach where we will adjust the swim distance and distance out for each level so that every child will be able to stop and touch the ground if they need to. Lifejackets are allowed for those who are nervous about the water. Each child will need a bike (training wheels allowed) and helmet as well as running shoes. See the attached flyer for more information. This is an event your child or teenager will never forget. As a volunteer or spectator it is amazing seeing these participants work their way through the course and cross the finish line with smiles on their face. It is an achievement to be proud of and one to help instill confidence in our youth. Don't miss out on registration- t-shirts guaranteed as long as you register by Sept. 1st! Don't wait- event sold out last year. $25 per participant or $50 max per family; (family discount must be mailed in or taken at the office). All youth ages 5-17 as of Sept. 12 are welcome. The position of Program Manager is responsible for the overall management of a Recreation Department program, including staff supervision, training and evaluation, program planning and implementation, budget control, and program quality assurance.
We are looking to hire 4-8 positions. Please call the Recreation Department at 860-447-5230 with any questions & for the application. Ages 18 & older may apply for this position.

Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age; provide a work permit (if applicable); some college or equivalent work experience. Must possess leadership skills in recreation activities (paid or volunteer) that include children and supervisory experience.
