Good afternoon,

The Men’s 4-Ball Championship match was played today between our top two seeded teams: Dave Sousa / Jim Cavalieri and Alex Tryon / Austin Free.

It was a terrific match that came down to the 18th hole. Through eight holes, Alex and Austin held a 2-up advantage. Dave and Jim responded by winning the next two holes to square the match. Alex and Austin regained a 1-up lead by winning the 12th hole, and the match remained that way until the 16th, when they extended their lead to 2 up with two holes remaining.

Dave and Jim battled back to win the 17th hole, cutting the deficit to 1 down heading to the final hole. Both teams halved the 18th hole, securing a 1-up victory for Alex and Austin.

Congratulations Alex Tryon for making his first career Hole in One today on hole #3. Alex hit an 8 iron from 175 yards. Austin Free, Dave Sousa & Jim Cavalieri witnessed his awesome shot!!

We had our annual glow ball tournament this past Wednesday evening. The Beaver Moon brought very windy conditions to GNCC which added another element to an already fun event.

Congratulations Bill Kane, Zach Kane, Will Kane, David Kane & Tony Suarez for winning with a net score of 19 (par is 27).
Second place went to Trevor Yeomans, Ty Yeomans, Mike Rocchetti, Kyle Cardoza & Clancy Susi 22mc.
Third place went to John Pellegrino, Matthew Shea, Nick Hynes, Nate Hynes & Owen Lanuza 22mc.

Hello members, this weekend we had our annual Men’s Fall Member-Member Championship. The Member-Member is one of our most popular events if not the most popular amongst the guys. The weather was gorgeous which made for a great weekend of golf.

At the end of the tournament all our Flight Winners played in an Alternate Shot play-off against one another for the 2025 Overall Flight Member-Member Championship.

The two teams who survived the first two play-off holes were Jim Baxter/Tom Matyas and Allen Fry/Jeffrey Lin. The play-off went to the 4th hole before Allen & Jeffrey secured the victory.

Congratulations Phil Orenstein for making a Hole in One this morning during the Fall Member-Member on hole #3. Phil hit a 7-iron from 155 yards. This is his second career Hole in One.

Dear GNCC members,

On behalf of the women’s association’s TBBCF committee, we would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You for your continued support, your generosity, and your positive spirit, it just humbles us. In our fourth year, we are recognizing and getting to know more of you and so appreciate your input and suggestions to continually improve our event each year.

We would like to thank Dave and Ann Mortimer for their generosity in donating the prize money to the winners. Not only do they run a wonderful golf course and make it possible to do events like this, but they are thoughtful and supportive in so many ways.

We thank the Pro Shop and staff for all their hard work in preparation of the day, as well as on the day of the fundraiser. Thank you, Kevin and Kenny, for answering all our questions and keeping us grounded. We greatly appreciate your efforts and those of all the staff.

Thank you to Langley’s for providing the tasty luncheon to the members after the outing. Bev, Butch and Jess and the rest of the staff having the meal timed and ready for the end of the event.

And finally, we couldn’t have done any of it without the support of the GNCC community and their guests. Once again, you have all proved to be outstanding in your generosity. Thank you, a million times, for the donations of raffle items, tee sponsorships, money donations and all that went above and beyond. Looking forward to next year already!

We raised approximately $17,500. Beyond our expectations! All of which will be donated to the Terri Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation for research.
