Yahi Bowmen Of Modesto Family oriented archery club founded in 1954 dedicated to the sport of archery. Welcome to Yahi Bowmen Archery Club.

Yahi Bowmen is a family oriented club that was established in 1954 and has held a charter since January 1955. We are a nonprofit California corporation with affiliations to the National Field Archery Association (NFAA) and California Bow Hunters (CBH). Our Club strongly promotes the sport of Archery, including shooting and bowhunting, among families. We encourage youth participation and are fortunate to have pee-wee members who range in age from 3 to 5 years old. We also have several state champion shooters in our organization. We hope to fill the future needs of archery by involving as much of the youth as we can. Yahi holds meetings monthly, and during the summer - weekly, shoots that are open to the public. Members of other clubs and organizations, as well as the general public, are welcome as we always look forward to guests. If you have never been out to our range it is located at Modesto reservoir. The range is located next to the lake inlet on the East side of the Lake.

Last Saturday was the 2026 Fall Fling, it was a great event! Everyone enjoyed the beautiful early Fall weather, especially the lack of the infamous Yahi wind it was a little hot and so was the competition. Just over 60 archers took on 28 targets with 84 arrows and posted some very good scores. In the compound class we had several near perfect scores with several compound archers posting over 900 and some over 800 in the Trad classes. All the top scoring archers in each class then had a chance to take home a Fall Fling buckle in a 5 target unmarked shoot off. Thank you to all that came from near and far and participated. Thank you to the Yahi members that went out of their way to put in the hard work to make this event happen especially Ross that grabbed the w**d eater and finished cleaning up the trials after the mower went down.

Hi all, I hope everyone is well and those that put time in the field were rewarded with a validated tag. On October 17, we will hold Fall Fling. We need some volunteers to make this a successful event. Our range need so maintenance so in preparation we are holding a work party on Saturday October 3,

-Trim trees
-check pop ups for missing hardware
-w**d eat

Bring
-Gloves
-box cutters
-w**d eater+eye & ear protection
-water

For the Fall Fling we will be setting up starting October 14-16. The shoot is on the 17, the days proceeding the shoot Thursday and Friday we will be setting targets, shooting stakes, popups, score boards and other tasks. On the 17, we need help with registration, parking and shoot off. If you would like to participate in the shoot that is fine.

Mark your calendars, the Gene Foster Traditional Rendezvous is scheduled for November 14th-15th, 2026. We will be offering two ways to register, either online or by mail whichever is easiest for you.
