Our favorite event of the year is this Saturday September 19! Join us for Watertown’s Faire on the Square!

Artemis Yoga will have a booth with a super fun “yoga wheel of fortune” for a chance to win prizes or perhaps a plank pose or two.

If you are coming to the Faire, the Watertown Food Pantry is collecting non‑perishable donations 🥫 to help build a generous “harvest” for our neighbors! Bring a donation if you can.

The Faire is held behind the Library/City Hall at Saltonstall Park this Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 12–5pm at 149 Main Street, Watertown.

Hope to see you there, please stop by, say hi and spin the wheel!

Autumn Equinox: Finding Balance in Transition with Tracy Affonso
🍂Saturday, Sept 19 from 2PM-4PM

With shorter days and cooler air, let's come together to find balance amidst the changing seasons. Students will flow through a sequence that honors the transitions of autumn, allowing them to embrace the beauty of impermanence.

Our practice will conclude with a guided meditation to find harmony within the ebb and flow of life. https://ow.ly/qPoN50ZMJA3

Say “Hello” to Rosie Richardson! 👋 We’re so excited to welcome Rosie to the Artemis teaching community. Rosie is teaching an Iyengar Experienced class Fridays at 11am from Sept 11 to Oct 16, sign up one or all dates. With a deep passion for Iyengar Yoga and yoga philosophy, Rosie loves bringing people together as a community of learners and helping students discover new growth in their practice. We can’t wait for you to get to know Rosie and experience her classes! Please learn a little more about her in the teacher spotlight below!

⭐ What inspires you to teach yoga?
My passion for Iyengar yoga and yoga philosophy notwithstanding, I am inspired by my students and LOVE when they share about their growing awareness and progress in their practice. Bringing folks together into a community of learners is very satisfying.

⭐ Is there a mantra or philosophy that resonates with you and/or with your practice?
"May I not be held back by what I think I know." Humility in my practice helps keep my mind open to learning and finding new awareness.

⭐ If one has only 5 minutes to practice, what poses would you recommend?
Oooh...That's a tough one...Depends on how you’re feeling, but I would try Supta Padangusthasana Series (Reclined Holding the Big Toe Poses) followed by Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downard Facing Dog Pose) with the head supported could be a nice opening into the day or a way to wind down after an overly busy day.

⭐ Do you have any yoga book recommendations?
This is the book! Light On Life by BKS Iyengar; there is always something new to glean from repeated readings.

⭐ How do you like to spend time outside of the studio?
I am an avid hiker, love travelling, cooking for my family and friends, attending theater and dance performances, and reading and discussing books.

⭐ Anything else you want to share?
I am an unabashed anatomy geek!

⭐ What inspires you to teach yoga?
I enjoy giving my students an excuse to unplug from the craziness of everyday life for a little while and pay closer attention to themselves.

⭐ Is there a mantra or philosophy that resonates with you and/or with your practice?
If you stumble, just make it part of your dance.

⭐ What is your favorite yoga pose?
It changes constantly! Right now I love a good seated twist.

⭐ If I only have 5 minutes to practice, what poses would you recommend?
Any combination of cat/cow, downward facing dog, lunges, at least one standing balance
pose, a couple backbends, pigeon, and a seated twist.

⭐ Do you have any yoga book recommendations?
Check out "From Punk to Monk" by Raghunath, a longtime friend and yoga teacher with a
fascinating story and outlook.

⭐ How do you like to spend time outside of the studio?
I really enjoy visiting new places, DIY home improvement projects, and weight training.

⭐ Anything else you want to share? Feel free to add any other questions/answers
We have 3 cats and 3 dogs and /'m obsessed with my 4 lb. Chihuahua, her name is Sybil.
