It was another great day for our race crew and our Quarry Road Ski Club athletes. Several of our alums skied with Roy Varney and knew him well. Congrats to Beckett for earning the top step on the podium. Also on the day Ian Beal earned a top 30, Lex Cote a top 10, and Noah Oliver had another day of strong skiing!

Podium Alert! It was a big weekend of podium finishes for QRSC athletes. At the Maranacook Waves high school race, Andrea Gunter (Waterville HS / QRSC) takes home the 9th grade win! Meanwhile in Lake Placid, NY Beckett Cote earns a podium in the junior sprints. And on both Saturday and Monday the middle school team saw racing action with Amelie van der Meer and Turner Albee earning the win on Saturday and Scotia Bell (2nd) and Will Ainsworth (3rd) earning podiums on Monday. And lots of great skiing from SO MANY other athletes. What a weekend!

In a little over two weeks (Feb 1-2) our club will host the NENSA Roy Varney Memorial Eastern Cup at Quarry Road Trails. We have a fun crew of volunteers already signed up, but still looking for 8-10 more folks. If you can volunteer, we'll guarantee good company, good baked goods, and good coffee... and the chance to watch the fastest ski racers in the region zip around the trails.
