Created in response to growing interest from our baseball families, this program is designed to keep Schuyler County athletes developing and competing together beyond the regular season. Our goal is to provide quality instruction, off-season development, and competitive opportunities that help prepare our players for success at the varsity level and beyond.

This weekend is perhaps our biggest of the year—and not just because it's one of our most important fundraisers.

This weekend, we have the privilege of honoring a longtime SCYBS board member, coach, donor, and friend as we host the 10th Annual Tom Malina Memorial Baseball Tournament.

Early in my coaching career, I had the privilege of coaching alongside Tom. I was coaching my oldest son, while Tom was coaching his grandson. Those are memories I'll always cherish, and it's an honor to continue the tradition of hosting this tournament in his memory. It's hard to believe this marks the 10th year already!

We hope you'll stop by the fields this Saturday and Sunday for a weekend of great baseball. Games will be played at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. both days, with the championship game taking place at 1:00 p.m. Sunday on Fazzary Field.

This year's tournament features teams from Dundee, Penn Yan, Addison, Corning, and, of course, our very own Schuyler County Storm!

Come out, cheer on the Storm, and help us bring the championship home in our own tournament—something that hasn't happened in quite some time!

We hope to see you around the fields this weekend as we celebrate great baseball, great community, and the legacy of a man who gave so much to our program.

⚾️ 10th Annual Tom Malina Memorial Tournament – Volunteers Needed! ⚾️

The Tom Malina Memorial Tournament is just around the corner on July 11-12, and we're excited to welcome teams from around the area! We're also hoping to see our 12U Schuyler County Storm bring the championship home on our own fields!

This tournament is one of our biggest events and fundraisers of the year, but it only happens because of our volunteers. Our league is 100% volunteer-run, and we need our baseball and softball families to step up and help make this weekend a success.

Our biggest need is Concession Stand volunteers, but we also need help with field prep before and throughout the tournament.

If every family can give just a little of their time, it will make a huge difference and prevent the workload from falling on the same few volunteers.

If you missed yesterday's Closing Day Ceremony, you missed a great day!

The weather was beautiful, the parade was awesome, Dylan Houseknecht delivered an outstanding speech, the bounce house helped keep everyone cool, the dunk tank stayed busy all day, the softball teams had a great time competing against one another, and the baseball game went into extra innings! It truly was a phenomenal day.

The support at the concession stand was incredible as well—we only had four bottles of water left out of three full cases! 🫠 The food from Pick's Pub was fantastic, and we hope everyone who attended had as much fun as we did.

As we head toward the end of our regular season and begin All-Star season, we have a couple of important reminders:

⚾ We are still in need of volunteers for this week. We have games scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and currently only one of those days is fully covered. If you can fit a shift into your schedule, please consider signing up to help.

🥎 Please also keep an eye out for additions to the volunteer schedule as Major and Minor All-Star games are added. In the coming weeks, we will also be posting volunteer sign-ups for our annual Malina Tournament on July 11-12.
