Dear Chairman Cummings and Santa Cruz County Supervisors,

The following is excerpted from a petition circulated in Spanish and English to our Watsonville and surround community, it has over 850 signatures. Please do not abandon us out here. Watsonville's long-overlooked residents are watching for your leadership in a prioritizaton of fixing Paulsen road, knowing there has already been a delay and great contrast with how quickly Main Street at Soquel Creek was reopened with a bridge fix in a more affluent and largely white residential area in only a matter of days.

Thank you for your attention to our rural community's needs. We are a larger rural community --- one that constitutes much use of Paulsen road, and property tax revenue coming from this area is significant.

Speak up at the Zoom meeting of the Board of Supervisors tomorrow, join the meeting at 1:30pm to advocate for reopening Paulsen Road

Public comment period will follow the presentation. Although the main focus of fixing Paulsen will be in September, we need to weigh in on getting our road re-opened ASAP for use for summer school families and teachers and fire crews, and workers trying to get to our jobs.
