Join us at 7:30 PM at the Stiner Pavilion for Maestro’s Birthday Bash, featuring the Chicago Brass Band and Milwaukee Festival Brass.

Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of live music along the shores of Lake Michigan!

The US National Weather Service Chicago Illinois is warning of a fast-moving line of severe thunderstorms expected to reach Waukegan between approximately 10AM and 10:30AM.

Storms could bring 75+ mph winds and torrential rainfall that may cause flash flooding.

Stay weather aware, secure loose outdoor items and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts. If a warning is issued for your area, seek shelter immediately.

Join the Lake Plain Coalition tomorrow, Saturday, August 8, from 9AM to 11AM for a hands-on restoration workday at the Waukegan Dunes and help protect one of Waukegan’s most unique natural spaces.

No experience is necessary. Volunteers will learn about native plants and wildlife, restoration techniques, and the history of this important coastal habitat while helping with restoration efforts.

Participants will meet at the Waukegan Dunes at Waukegan Municipal Beach, 540 to 562 E. Sea Horse Drive. Children ages 10 and older are welcome with an adult.

Come out, lend a hand, and learn more about this important natural area.

The final Waukegan Band concert of the season is tonight at the Stiner Pavilion at Waukegan Municipal Beach!

Enjoy a free concert beginning at 7:30PM. Bring your chairs, blankets, and snacks while you relax along the lakefront and enjoy an evening of music.

While this is the final concert of the season for the Waukegan Band, the Stiner Pavilion Concert Series continues with two more free concerts:

Join us tonight at 7PM for a FREE performance by the Waukegan Band at the Stiner Pavilion. With a cool lakefront breeze in the forecast, be sure to bring a blanket, lawn chair, and a light jacket or sweater. Food trucks will also be on-site.

If you're still experiencing a power outage at home, this is a great opportunity to get out, enjoy the fresh air, grab a bite to eat, do some arts & crafts, and spend the evening with community.

The first round of storms is moving out of Waukegan, but there have already been reports of flooding. If you're traveling today, use extra caution, never drive through flooded roadways, and watch for downed trees and branches.

Another round of strong to severe storms is expected later today, with the potential for damaging wind gusts, large hail, and additional heavy rainfall. The greatest threat is expected between 1PM and 7PM.

Please also be aware of dangerous swimming conditions at Waukegan Municipal Beach. High waves and life-threatening currents are expected, and residents and visitors should stay out of the water and avoid piers, breakwalls, and lakeshore trails.
