Did you know? 🏊♂️
Bringing a plastic bag to your swim lesson is a simple way to store wet swim clothes after class. It helps keep the rest of your bag dry and makes packing up after time in the pool much easier.
Tag a friend so they are prepared for the next swim lesson. 💧

🏊♂️ Take swimming skills to the next level!
Our Intermediate classes focus on building stronger technique in the water while introducing and refining the four competitive strokes.
- Intermediate 1 helps strengthen freestyle and backstroke while beginning breaststroke with the breaststroke kick. Water safety skills continue to be reinforced along the way.
- Intermediate 2 builds on those foundations by refining freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke while introducing butterfly through the dolphin kick. Endurance and self rescue stamina continue to grow.
- Intermediate 3 focuses on refining all four strokes through drills that improve technique, strength, and overall swimming ability.
Looking for the right next step in swim progression? Ask our team about our Intermediate classes.

S.A.F.E.R. Swimmer Promise Step 10: Exit Safely🛟
Knowing how to exit the pool safely is the final step in completing a full self-rescue.
This skill focuses on reaching the wall and climbing out of the water with control, ensuring a person can fully remove themselves from the pool when needed. Mastering this step reinforces confidence and safer habits in and around the water.

Emergencies around water happen quickly. Staying prepared is an important part of staying safe. The National Drowning Prevention Alliance (NDPA) highlights emergency readiness as a key layer of protection for families around water.
Start by making sure help can be reached quickly. Keep a phone near the pool so 911 can be called immediately if needed. It’s also important that adults and caregivers know CPR with rescue breaths, since immediate action can make a critical difference in a water emergency.
Having rescue equipment, a first aid kit, and posted CPR instructions nearby can also help ensure the right tools and information are available when every second counts. Another important reminder: if a child is missing, check the water first and call 911 right away.
These simple steps can make a life-saving difference.

Practice makes prepared! 👕💦 Clothes-on swim week is May 27 - June 2nd because the pool isn’t always where water surprises happen!
During lessons this week, swimmers will practice in everyday clothes over their swimsuits to help build real-life water safety skills and confidence. Swimming in clothes feels very different than swimming in a swimsuit. The fabric of clothes is heavier as it absorbs the water. Movement is more challenging, and kids get the opportunity to safely experience what it might feel like if they unexpectedly found themselves in water.
Throughout class, we’ll also be practicing several important self-rescue skills to help swimmers build confidence and learn how to respond in real-life situations. During this time, we will also practice without goggles on.
We encourage swimmers to come dressed in any everyday clothing they may realistically be wearing. Sweatpants, jeans, shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, pajamas, and even shoes! You never know what a child may be wearing if they unexpectedly end up in water, and practicing in different types of clothing helps build confidence, awareness, and important water safety skills in a safe and supportive environment.
🏊 Swim Team families: swimmers will participate too! They’ll complete some drills in their clothes first and then finish the remainder of class in just their swimsuits. They will not be wearing clothes over swimsuits for the entire hour-long lesson.
👶 Parent Tot/Baby classes: little swimmers are encouraged to join in too! Clothing instead of suits is encouraged this week, and one-piece rompers or pajamas are a great option for our littlest splashers. Please note, they must have their swim diaper under their clothes. No regular diapers in the pool. Regular diapers absorb and can only hold so much. When they explode open in the pool, it creates a big mess.
We can’t wait to see our swimmers splash, learn, and demonstrate their self rescue skills!
