Here are some tips to help you build up your aerobic endurance and impact tolerance with run-walks:🚶🏼‍♂️🏃🏼‍♂️

1️⃣ Start Slow: If you're new to running or haven't been active in a while, it's essential to start slow and gradually build up your endurance. Begin with shorter run-walk intervals and gradually increase your time and distance as your fitness improves.

2️⃣ Use a Run-Walk Method: A run-walk method is an effective way to build up endurance and impact tolerance while minimizing the risk of injury. Start with shorter intervals, such as running for one minute and walking for two minutes, and gradually increase the running time while decreasing the walking time.

3️⃣ Focus on Form: Good running form can help reduce the impact on your joints and improve your efficiency. Focus on keeping your posture upright, your arms relaxed, and your feet landing softly on the ground.

4️⃣ Incorporate Cross-Training: Cross-training activities like cycling, swimming, or strength training can help improve your overall fitness and reduce the impact on your joints. Incorporate these activities into your routine to help build endurance and reduce the risk of injury.

5️⃣ Listen to Your Body: It's essential to listen to your body and rest when you need to. Pushing yourself too hard can lead to injury and setbacks, so take rest days when needed, and don't be afraid to adjust your run-walk intervals as necessary.

✖️HOW TO CORRECTLY USE THE SCALE✖️

🚫 DO NOT:
-Get frustrated by day to day fluctuations
-Fuss over short term spikes
-ONLY look at the ups & downs in scale weight

✅ DO:
-Recognize weight fluctuations day to day
-Stay focused on long term weekly averages & trends
-ALSO look at progress pictures & how clothes are fitting

‼️STOP JUST TRYING TO “LOSE WEIGHT”‼️

HERE IS WHY... ⤵️

You aren’t wanting to lose weight remember, you want to lose FAT specifically.

Losing weight in general may mean you’re losing muscle mass too— which is NOT ideal from a metabolism & overall health standpoint despite the fact you may be seeing the number on the scale go down.

This is why weight training is so important from multiple aspects. Weight training allows us to eat more while still losing body fat by way of increasing our metabolism as we add more muscle.

Overall health is more important than just “weight loss”.

Correct your habits daily regarding your health & the fat loss will start to become a symptom of these habit changes.

This is how you sustainably lose body fat for life while avoiding the yo-yo back & forth effect that most struggle with.

➖Ideal Rest Time In The Gym➖

Many times I see people in the gym rushing through their sets with nearly zero rest between sets…

Many times I always see people in the gym taking forever between sets sitting on their phone, talking, the list goes on…

Either of these scenarios are not ideal.

The ideal rest time between sets might be something you have wondered about in the past, and hopefully this helps clear things up for you.

I wanted to take the time today to share with you a case study from my client Stacie who worked with me my first year of online coaching as she was starting her fitness journey... 👇

When Stacie first came to me regarding my 1 on 1 coaching she had some experience in the gym before— but she was lacking the foundation on WHAT she should be focusing on while in the gym.

She was doing far too much cardio & not eating enough. She lacked a solid plan.

When we first began together it was tough convincing her that eating that much would actually HELP our cause... but after she started to trust myself & the process (along with following my plan to a T— making my life easy) she started to really see some results physically.

With a consistent workout routine focusing on major foundational lifts; we were able to get her consistent in the gym, still keep some of the running she enjoys in the equation; and got her eating near DOUBLE the amount of food she was while weighing almost 15 lbs heavier (meaning she was eating MORE while LOSING body fat)...

Last August my old friend Mitch messaged me looking for help with his nutrition / exercise goals...

I am so pleased to be joined by my old friend / online client Mitchell Matyas today on the Fitness Simplified Podcast!
