On January 1, 2002, Gakiya Sensei formed the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai. The OKDR is devoted to the study and preservation of this treasured art of Kobudo. Sensei Neil Stolsmark was appointed as President of the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai by Gakiya Sensei on June 30th, 2011.

This week on PKCC is Kyoshi Neil Stolsmark.
In his search for knowledge, Kyoshi Stolsmark has traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, South Africa and Okinawa. He is one of 8 people outside of Okinawa to represent 10th Dan Shorinkan Grandmaster Shugoro Nakazato as a Kyoshi 8th Dan of karate-do. As a 9th Dan in Okinawa Kobudo, Sensei Stolsmark is the president of the Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Rensei-kai and has been appointed successor of Yoshiaki Gakiya Sensei. Kyoshi Stolsmark has owned and operated the Waukesha dojo (Wisconsin) for 29 years and the Watertown dojo (Wisconsin) for 25 years.
