Happy Thursday! I noticed the other day we're closing in pretty fast on 1,500 followers on my page! This is a pretty cool milestone starting from nothing and operating a 1 man show on the side in Central Wisconsin! If we can get to 1,500 Facebook followers before ice up in Wisconsin I will give away a free custom ice rod to one lucky winner to kick the season off! Invite your friends and family to like and follow 715 Custom Rods and if we hit our goal before ice up I'll create another post for the giveaway! Thank you to everyone for your continued support!

Quick office update!

This winter I'll be stocking my rods down in Schafers River Rentals in Lake Onalaska, and in conjuction with that I'm sending down a full rod display specific to this brand. In the meantime I had to decide what I was going to do to replace the display rack leaving my place and figured why not just fabricate something super cool to sit on my desk in place of it!

That's just what I did! Grabbed materials to make a wood one, wood burned it and finished it out for the new desktop display!

Ice is getting close and I've got a large stock of components on the way so busy season is near, get ready now!

❗❗Attention ❗❗

Shop closed from December 19th - January 1st

Wanted to jump on here early and let both new and returning customers know my plan for the upcoming season.

Some of you may know others may not, I'll be entering my 4th season of building custom ice rods and while I'm extremely excited I've decided I need to set some boundaries. When starting a small business you pour everything into it to make it happen and that includes late nights, extended periods of busyness and tons of planning alot of times trickles heavily into time set aside to enjoy life.

My number one business model has and always will be creating great relationships with my customer base and always providing transparent communication! With that being said I am open to accepting orders immediately for the 2026-27 season with the caveat that I will only be building until December 19th and will be taking a break to enjoy the holidays. As soon as January 1st comes around I'll be right back to building and filling orders but I really love Christmas and new years and I've found over the years I stress so much with building and fitting in get togethers I never get to just relax thus the change in pace this year.

I am by all means going nowhere, just simply taking a small break mid season to really fully relax and enjoy time with friends and family. So if you're thinking of ordering with me this year just keep that in mind when choosing what and when you'd like to order!

Thank you so much for the continued support of my small business and I look forward to another great year!

Hey there, how are ya? It's been a minute but when you're seeing a post from me you can bet summer is coming to a close (sorry!). Figured I'd jump on here after a summer away from the page. I've been working on some rod repairs and logistics before the upcoming season BUT, I've also been working on some new grip options for this coming season. Never seen before in the 715 shop are custom made burl cork grips in both single and split options and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't SUPER excited with how this first sample set turned out. They're a bit of work but I'm a big fan of trusting the process and seeing the finished product come to life and I've gotta say, she's a beaut Clark!!

Can't wait for another great season and hope everyone had a great summer!

It's always a sad day to wrap up the ice equipment and put it in storage for the upcoming warm months. Here's a friendly reminder before you shove those rods away make sure to release the line tension and you'll thank yourself when you pull them out again in 7 months from now!

❗❗ ATTENTION

It's been brought to my attention there's a fake profile liking everyone's comment on the giveaway taking place on my page. Please do not accept any messages from that page as the giveaway is still going on and I will reach out directly from 715 Custom Rods page to the winner once the drawing has concluded!!! If you see the page pretending to be me I'd appreciate if you reported and blocked. Thank you!!

Giveaway is posting tomorrow for those of you paying attention👀! In the meantime when a customer brings you 5 rods to fix and the saying about never building anything big enough holds true you just have to spread all of the rods around the basement!🤣🤣

I think this is the last order of the season. Finished it up a couple weeks ago but just took a break from posting on the business page. I'll certainly build ice rods through the coming months for anyone who wants to get ahead of next season and I'll be building up a stock for a bait shop and my own personal stock for next season. In the meantime I'll be finishing up fishing for the last bit of ice season, fixing open water rods and getting ready to get the golf clubs out. I cant thank all of you enough for another outstanding ice season and without you none of this would be possible! I'm planning on cooking up an end of season giveaway for the followers of this page so keep your eyes peeled in the coming days and again, THANK YOU!!!
