What is Therapeutic Riding? Who Can Ride? Participants are determined after an evaluation/assessment, time slot availability and appropriate horse availability.

Therapeutic riding uses horse related activities for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional, and social well-being of people with disabilities. DID YOU KNOW….
did you know that there is emerging research pointing out how partnering with horses can help improve mental health conditions, particularly military veterans and first responders suffering from PTSD? Researchers have analyzed horse’s, cortisol levels (the figure primary stress hormone) and found that they tend to increase when they interact with veterans with PTSD. This may be a physical indication that horses can recognize and mirror the emotions of humans.

~ C**T CAMERON ~

C**t is 22 years old. He has two brothers and two sisters! His favorite color is blue. And, his favorite food is hamburgers. One word to describe him is “Polite”! C**t has a great vocabulary and is so willing to please. A fun fact about him is he used to ride motorcycles. Being with family makes C**t happy. His favorite horse is Dusty.

~ Gabrielle Kalinowski ~

Gabrielle is 9 years old. Her favorite color is blue and her favorite food is sushi. She loves to go to Grandma‘s house and being with Family makes her happy. Her favorite horse is named Magic. Gabrielle has a dog named Boris and one named Misty. A fun fact about her is that she loves to be outside! Some of the things she likes to do is making crafts. One word that would describe Gabrielle is “opinionated“!

~ ANN CHEEK ~

Ann is 24 years old. She likes to dance, ride horseback and go to the library. One word to describe her is “precious”! A fun fact about Ann is that she learns best by singing and she speaks sign language. Another fun fact about Ann is that she was the first rider when Campfire Creek opened 20 years ago. Ann’s pets are named Pepper, Phoenix and Fluffers.
Her favorite color is pink and her favorite place to go is Granny’s. Her favorite food is spaghetti and most everything makes Ann happy. Doc was her favorite horse and still is.

~KATE BAIZE~

Kate is 17 years old. She has a younger sister, Cameron, and a dog she calls Sophia. She likes to swim, horseback ride and spend time with friends. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite place to go is Florida. She loves to ride Dilly. “Caring” is a good word to describe Kate. Her favorite foods are Hawaiian and Mexican food. Being with friends and family makes her happy!

~KAREN MARTIN~

Karen is 72 years old and has been riding with Campfire Creek for 15 years. Her favorite color is green and when ask what her favorite food is she says “gravy”! But she like ALL foods. She likes to go to horseback riding and her favorite horse is every horse she rides! Karen loves attention. “Happy” is the best word to describe Karen. Karen is a fun rider and makes us all smile when she comes into the barn. She loves to wave to everyone while she rides!!

As usual, thank you just doesn’t seem like enough to show our love and appreciation for everyone that showed up to yesterday’s fish fry and auction!
We had such a great time visiting with everyone and eating way too much food!
Steve Chambers and his squad are the absolute best and we love them BIG for all their hard work frying up the fish, fries and hush puppies!
Once again, our fundraiser was a huge success because of all of you and we couldn’t be more grateful!
